My WAY TOO EARLY Central Region Ranking:

1. Webster (SLIAC)
2. Carthage (CCIW)
3. Wheaton (IL) (CCIW)
4. Wartburg (IIAC)
5. IWU (CCIW)
6. WashU (UAA)
7. North Central (CCIW)
8. St. Norbert (MWC)
9. North Park (CCIW)
10. Coe (IIAC)

Well, this isn't going too well right now... maybe team will find their groove once it warms up a bit?

My Updated Central Region Rankings (Thru 4/6):
1. Buena Vista 13-3 IIAC
2. North Central 14-2 CCIW
3. Wartburg 13-5 IIAC
4. Wheaton 15-7 CCIW
5. Luther 13-5 IIAC
6. Spalding 17-7 SLIAC
7. Carroll 10-4 MWC (did I really just write that?? Stein Rear has done a great job turning that program)
8. Webster 13-11 SLIAC
9. WashU 16-11 UAA
10. Grinnell 12-4 MWC

*A lot of this will shift as conference play gets going and teams settle into what they truly are. Any of these gonna be "pretenders" instead of the "contenders" they are right now? Anyone NOT on this list that will claw its way back into the mix? (I like IWU and Carthage to scrap their way back... as well as St. Norbert to not be as dismal as they appear right now).

... and right on cue, North Central gets blown out by Rose-Hulman, 20-1.  Strange times in the CCIW.

Does anyone have a date for the first NCAA Regional Rankings?

Tradition does suggest next week.  Everything feels like it is going a week later than normal with May 1 coming on Monday.

Anyone want to take a shot at a Central Region ranking right now?

I think North Central is my clear cut 1, but after that it gets pretty murky. Grinnel is 21-4 and they have a few nice wins on their resume, but I am still leery of placing them near the top.

Hard to argue with you, but I am not certain that Grinnell will be that high. NCAA puts a premium on SoS. Just assuming that WashU may slide ahead of Grinnell.

I always feel like today is a HUGE day for some teams that are hoping to see where they stand with the NCAA Selection Committee... like a moderately attractive girl who some think is perfect and others won't give the time of day... just waiting and waiting....

Rankings seem pretty reasonable.  I'm surprised Augustana is ahead of Buena Vista.  One of those teams might have a shot at a Pool C bid if they finish the season strong and lose in their conference championship games (barring a ton of upsets across the nation).

BigPoppa

Grinnell being the #6 seed right now makes it pretty clear to me that the MWC will be a one-bid conference and only the MWC Tourney winner will get a bid. WashU's SoS really helped them out and should keep them relevant and in good shape provided both NCC and Wartburg take care of business from here on out.
