Kudos to the committee for swapping UW-Stevens Point with Carthage so that we don't have regionals with three CCIW teams or three WIAC teams.

I like seeing as many conferences represented at a regional as possible.

Seeing as IL Wes has always had NAthCon's number, that's who I'm pulling for in this regional.

I hate to say it (I hope coach Augie Schmidt forgives me), but go IWU. It will be nice to see a CCIW team in Appleton. Hopefully, Carthage can join them there. I cannot even imagine what will happen if they actually meet in the first round.
Baseball is not a game that builds character, it is a game that reveals it.

To me, this seems to be a very competitive regional.  I think any of the top 5 can win it but I definitely wouldn't put it past Webster to pull an upset or two.  IWU has a great pitching duo that could put them in a great position after two games.  What really stands out to me were the stats on the top 4 Linfield starting pitchers.  Without knowing the strengths of all the schedules it's hard to completely compare these numbers but I just though they'd be interesting to look at and give us all a few names to keep an eye on while following the games.

Great post with some good info augie_superfan.

I will predict that Augustana's bats will return to HOT as they were before the CCIW tournament.  I will also say that there will be atleast two Augustana Pitchers (that are not on the list you provided) that will have a impact on what happens in the next several days...Erickson & Engle.

LET THE GAMES BEGIN BOYS!  Let's get it on.

Linfield is coached by former Yankee 3rd baseman Scott Brosius.

I think the biggest problem with this team doing anything is that their hitters haven't faced real game situations since April 28th.  They've been off for just over two weeks.  It's kind of tough to play 2 and 3 times a week and then take a break like that and have to bring your "A" game right away.

I do like their pitching staff though.  They could surprise.

mwunder

no live stats for this regional?

knarocky22

I've been looking for awhile and can't find any either.  I really thought Augustana would have them.

mwunder

Someone needs to get a hold of Dave Wrath (sp?) and get him on board here!

We need an on-site poster with internet access to give us some scoring updates!

hh131

This just sucks!  How can a school be awarded a regional tournament and have no live stats???  From what I can tell, this is the only D3 regional without live updates.  Shame on Augustana for not providing the service, and shame on the NCAA for not requiring this from the host school.  If the link is out there, please someone let us know (and then I'll apologize to Augustana for ripping on them).

augie28

I agree with everyone else, I really thought Augie would come through with some sort of a feed (if nothing more than score updates through D3baseball.com).

They have the capabilities to do it on-site and should have even resorted to "renting" IWU's system if they had no other options.

It is going to be a long night tonight if I have to wait until the game is over around 10:30 to get the first update!

knarocky22

augie28,

Shouldn't you be working right now anyways?

I can't find any...that is very disappointing.
While it is disappointing, I think embarassing would be an even better choice of words......   >:(
