I'm just glad this is a legitimate question, unlike in CCIW men's basketball where it's traditionally been "Who won the league? Cool, that coach wins the award, and if there's a tie it's co-winners."

Amen to that, Lucas.

And a double portion from me.  Annoying, and annoyingly unlikely to change.

No complaints about any of the above choices.  Although I haven't seen NP play yet (that will happen Sat) I would lean toward Rooker at this point, if nothing else but the competitive level he has raised the Eastern Vikings to in his tenure so far.

Went to the Lake Forest-Wheaton game on Tuesday. As a Wheaton fan wanted to give a shout-out to the facilities guy. My Moms in a wheelchair and he gave us options on where to sit and found us a good spot where my Mom would be comfortable but still could see and then brought chairs over so my Dad and I could sit by her.

Was really impressed by the play of Alex Knight. He played hard all game, even after the deficit grew for the Forresters.

My parents and I went to the Wheaton-Lake Forest game on Monday. Shout out to the facilities coordinator at Lake Forest. My Moms in a wheelchair and he helped us find a good spot to be where we could see the whole court and the players and her remained safe (ie they weren't going to crash into her going after a loose ball. He even brought chairs over so my Dad and I could sit by her.

Game went about as expected. Wheaton looked much quicker in person than online. Pretty good distribution offensively and sound defense, especially in the first half.

The team thanked us for coming as they exited and my Dad was thrilled about his fist bump from
Tyson Cruikshank, his favorite player.

Happy Thanksgiving gang! Thankful for the support I've felt since the loss of my wife. Rivalries and sports are fun, but love being part of the d3 community!

Good luck to North Central this weekend. I was a bit surprised how easily CMU took care of DePauw, but the second weekend is a familiar spot for you guys so you how it goes. I think it's the toughest week as the schedule is different with there being no classes and such, it's harder to keep the rhythm going. I'm predicting 38-14 Cards. Glad this matchup is happening. Felt terrible for CMU last year having to cancel.

Really surprised that Wheaton has the chance to host.  Perhaps a budgetary decision somehow bracket-wise?  The facilities at Wheaton are good, unless you count the stadium bathrooms.

Pretty sure this was probably just a case of Wheaton being a #3 in region 5 and Bethel was #4 or #5 probably. That's probably what determined hosting.

That makes sense. I had forgotten the regional ranking portion.

I'm really hoping that Jaran Roste will be able to be in as best form as possible (he's been struggling with an injury I believe).  He's a dynamic player that really enhances Bethel's chances.  Regardless, his determination will be a test for the Wheaton defense.

Awesome first round draw for SJU, get's immediately tough after that. Upper left quad and lower right have insane depth.

Glad Bethel is in. Wheaton will be a very serious test. With a healthy Roste I think this would be an epic game, hoping he's able to finish the game and give us that kind of mathcup (I know he'll give it all he's got in that regard).

I know he'll give everything.  He's a special player.  I'm honestly surprised Wheaton got a chance to host, thinking maybe it worked out as a budgetary decision.  We do have good facilities, unless you take into account the stadium bathrooms.

It will be a good game.  I was really starting to sweat it with the two losses, but when I saw we were hosting, I thought to myself, we're going to play Bethel.  Good luck to the not Pilots, the Royals.

In the end, I thought all of the NCC and WC fans were treated to a fantastic hard-fought game on both sides of the ball.  WC came out fighting in the 3Q to make the contest a bit more exciting and NCC proved their National Championship-caliber mettle by orchestrating two nice long scoring drives in the 4Q that effectively put the game out of reach.  Hope both teams have success the rest of the way and am keeping my fingers crossed that we will see two CCIW teams in the playoffs.

At this point if there are 2 CCIW teams in the playoffs one of them is likely to be the Bears in St Louis. I agree with Sager that, while they have yet to play a consequential opponent, their experience and quality of play looks and smells like a contender in the CCIW. It wouldn't shock me at all to see WashU in the playoffs come November.

Agreed. I think their offensive weapons are capable of giving both Wheaton and North Central all they can handle.

To those NCC fans that chose to relieve themselves in the Wheaton locker room, on the players personal items... stay classy!

That's absolutely disgusting and I'm embarrassed as an NCC Alum. Hard fought game and both teams got after it on the field and to have something like that smear the entire evening is beyond disappointing.  >:( >:(

That's gross.  It's just a football game.  I hope they were at least drunk. Doing that in your right mind would doubly confirm what everyone is thinking about your decision making.

Drunk, either way that is unacceptable. No excuse for that behavior AT ALL.

Agreed.  I wasn't trying to let anyone off the hook with the drunk comment.  I'm assuming the actual transgression took place in a locker area where there would not be any type of footage.

Quote from: matblake on October 02, 2022, 08:04:33 AMFor those who dare to dream, first, both Wheaton has to win out

Winning out will not be as easy as it was last year for Wheaton. Wash U has a very legitimate chance to beat Wheaton in St. Louis on November 5.

Agreed.  They are balanced and have a lot of offensive weapons and Wheaton's defense is much more questionable this season.
