Did the Super Bowl remind anyone else of the Stagg Bowl this past year?

- The league's best defense going up against the league's best offense.
- The defensive minded team blows out the offensive juggernaut, to everyone's surprise.
- The league's MVP (just so happens to be a QB in both cases) is out shined by the other team's QB.
- Pick six by both winning teams.
- Bad snap that lead to points (this one is a stretch).
- The offensive powerhouse teams only manage one solid scoring drive.
- A 38 point win verse a 35 point win.

Both games showed that a great defense doesn't compare to a great offense.

Yep.  Was thinking about that a lot.  Jeepers that was a monkey stomp.
What the hell was that?  That was a Drop-kick.  Drop-kick? How much is that worth?  Three points.  THREE POINTS?!

Great observations.  I will add one more.
Somewhere, in a third world country, they will be wearing both Raiders and Broncos Championship hats and shirts.   ;D

I really wanted this one for Peyton so he could finish his record breaking season with a ring but was not optimistic.  DEFENSE does, indeed, win championships and the Seahawk's DEFENSE was a thing of beauty.   8-)
"Of course, that's just my opinion, I could be wrong!"  Dennis Miller

"Three things you don't want to be in football, slow, small and friendly!"  John Madden

"You can learn more character on the two-yard line than anywhere else in
life." Paul Dietzel / LSU

I was really impressed with the SeaHawks team speed.  Even the defensive front was racing east and west tackling running backs before the could get going.

Mrs BW and I won $140 on the half time score.  Who would have thought that 2 & 0 would be a winner.

He's got skills. Love the way he throws the fade.
Now we need a receiver in pipeline to replace Jake Kumerow after next season.

The last Sun Prairie QB we had was pretty good.  Let's hope lightning strikes twice.

Oops, I should have said the one before the last one instead of the last one.  I'm surprised you didn't smite me on that gaffe '02.  I meant to reference Justin Jacobs who had he not been injured his senior season may very well have ended up in D1 someplace.

Had to restrain myself from that too.  ;D

Another Jacobs would be nice...I didn't realize he was from S.P. as well. UWW has developed quite a QB pipeline from there over the past 10 years.

Didn't one of the position coaches in the Super Bowl have a UWW connection? Seems like I read that somewhere.

I think I saw something regarding Seattle's Defense coordinator played for Salisbury as well.

UWP announced its 2014 schedule on Sept 20 they return to Naperville to hopefully avenge their playoff loss from last year.  Congrats to both teams for scheduling a non-conference game like this. A link to the full schedule;

That's a great non con schedule with the two IIAC teams and NCC, both for the team and the fans.
Well done UWP.

Still the lead story on D3football.com, in fact.
