Titan Q - appreciate the link showing the play.  Not a real imaginative set, really not that difficult to defend especially considering the location of IWU players on the weak side.  They didn't appear to be a threat which allowed help on the big rolling.

Didn't look like Overstreet was in position to attack as he was pounding the ball waiting for the initial action - when that didn't materialize he had to settle.

And One - interesting point regard Nelson and his celebrations after making 3 balls.  I believe you made a comment about that after IWU beat Wheaton in the last regular season game.  It seemed the "basketball gods" possibly didn't like the celebrations either as Nelson made just 30.8% of his three point attempts in the seven games after the Wheaton contest, including an 0-6 against Whitewater.

Making 3's is often a very streaky thing - can never get too high or low because things can change awful quick.

Based on returning players, not sure who could challenge Point for the #2 spot.  I think there's a huge drop-off after the Big 2.

Worth stayin' for the Clips

Heard it was knee related - didn't hear any specifics

Brian - do you know if Collum will return for a 5th year?

Just Bill is right - that's what happens at the school I'm familiar with (the providing of a program to work on during the actual season).

Definitely have to wait - coaches also have to determine which freshman to grey shirt depending on roster make up.

As I recall Augie had a high pre-season ranking at this time in 2011, but they ended up having trouble making shots and the year they had fell below expectations.

How much perimeter shot making do they return this year outside of Hill?

Parkside has been really good the last few years in basketball - I know they made the D2 tourney this year.  Hard to believe they'd want to drop to D3.  However, know nothing about other sports at the school and if D3 would make more sense.

Sounds like a good move especially for those of us who had to travel to a road game at Superior.  Had no idea their enrollment was so far below other WIAC schools.

Player#50 - welcome to the board and totally agree on your assessment of the talent level of the league back in the 60s / 70s.  Back then I believe there were less than 200 NCAA Division 1 universities compared to the current 300+ so the talent pool was excellent at the D3 level.  Harper no doubt the man at NPC, but Bud and Mike not far behind.

twocentsworth - I'm down with you regarding Ryan.  He's a flat out bully on the sidelines the way he treats officials - just love when he points at one of them and screams "Come here!!"

Loved that play in the 2nd half when Arizona's big dribbled the ball off his knee and the ref kept it with Arizona and Ryan was immediately shown motioning that he wanted the action stopped.  Funny he didn't say anything on that questionable charge call on Johnson with a couple seconds left.

As a former D3 player I hadn't followed that much until the last 5 years or so.  I had not heard of any of the centers listed as the tops in the last 20 years so I googled Ben Strong.  Really amused by a poster "sdbrum" who went on and on in his 2008 posts on this board about how bad Joakim Noah was compared to Ben Strong after seeing both in action.  Thought it was only a matter of time before Noah would be outta the L and Strong in.  Trashed everything about Noah's game imaginable.

Wonder if Thibs realizes he should ask Gar about making this change on his current roster.
