You don't regularly shop at Walmart? You must be some sort of elitist.
I don't expect you to understand this but, if you can buy the same product at Cub,Target,Costco,Walmart or Mills Fleet Farm and one outlet is cheaper and not out of your way why not buy it there?
My sister will go 20 miles out of her way to not shop at Walmart over some moral high ground she has brainwashed herself with.

Consumer choice is part of the American way. Enjoy the Solo cups you purchased at Whole Foods  ;)

I usually go with Amazon Prime. They have the best prices and free shipping. Costco is great too.

Who's bringing the Hamm's tomorrow?

The first time I met USTBench, he came barreling through the woods up to our small tailgate in Science Lot #2, lugging a 30 of Hamm's with him.  At the time, beer was a no no, too.   :o

Really fun chat last night between Voj and two of John's kids, Gina and Jim, and some others, including former QB legend Willie Seiler. A lot of great stories about John, including his dislike of horses.

Maybe I missed this, but why is UST not a participant on the MIAC Channel (ROKU)?

People know better than to hassle a man with a dirty thirty of Hamm's. At least they should.

There have been a lot of great John stories shared this week in social media, print/web, radio, podcast, etc, etc. Former Johnnies QB Joe Boyle has shared some really good ones on his Twitter and this so far has been my favorite.

It's from a thread about the 2008 MIAC Championship game vs Carleton. This exchange from John happened right before the game winning drive with around 1 minute to play.

I was in Collegeville for Homecoming, and I noticed the student section bleachers were about 1/3 or half of the usual size.  Anyone have an idea what's the plan for this weekend?  I certainly hope they are bringing in lots of additional bleachers.

BTW, Massey gives UST a 52% chance of winning, and predicts the final to be 25-24.  I'm thinking this one will be decided on the final play.

GO JOHNNIES!
Sing us a song, you're the piano man
Sing us a song tonight
Well, we're all in the mood for a melody
And you've got us feelin' alright.

I've been trying to figure this out myself, as I use the MIAC Stretch app for FireTV.
I think it's because St Thomas just recently started using Stretch where previously they had their own setup. Guessing something needs to get configured on the Stretch side to include them in the conference now. I've contemplated digging into who should be contacted about this but mostly went "meh"

I don't know what the plan is, but I know there's been grumbling about the lack of general admission seating this season.  I heard second/third-hand from Alpers that the usual student section bleachers had gotten too expensive.  You'd think they would have been able to make up the cost with the revenue from the paid stream as well as the extra money they're charging for pre-sale reserved seats this season.  ::)

That's good stuff. John Gagliardi was Steve Kerr, before Steve Kerr. Establishing true trust and confidence in his leaders.

Strength of Schedule rankings have been released. 4 of St John's 5 wins have come against teams rated higher on the list. (#6 Gustavus, #10 Augsburg, #16 Bethel, & #25 UW-Stout). St John's made the list at #29 & after scrolling down for quite aways, St Thomas finally appeared at #170.

Auggie #10, Gustavus #6 you say? I would like to audit whatever the source info is?

There are MANY flaws in the NCAA SOS methodology, that have been discussed often on D3. While I know this is a factor of consideration for the selection committee, I would leverage Massey or Hansen as a much better metric. And, just because any team is ranked high in that metric, does not mean they are an actual strong opponent. If you look where Mount and MHB are, that would validate it.

Regardless, SJU's schedule this year is as impressive as they have had in many years. A non-conference slate with a solid, middle of the pack WIAC school and what should be a really strong independent in Thomas More, plus UST and Bethel.

I'm gonna wager under 14K tomorrow (which is still an incredible # of people).
