So we can all agree that the Tommie/Johnnie rivalry is something special. There's been plenty of talk about who might become Tommie rivals in D1. However, there hasn't been as much talk about who the Johnnies' primary rival in the MIAC might be going forward. Bethel makes sense for football, but maybe not across a broader range of sports. Thoughts?

Who has speculated on whom the tommies may acquire as a rival?

There has been some discussion of it. For football, the closest Pioneer League opponent is Drake, which isn't very exciting but with family in Iowa and friends in Des Moines, I could make the best of that.
In other sports, I'm not sure who would end up as a rival

I surely don't recall any conversation on a future tommie rivalry...

From the small world category: Had a youth wrestling tournament today for our son.  We're talking somewhere around 400 wrestlers.  We ended up with the son of one of my Johnnie teammates in our bracket!  Of course, those two ended up battling for first place, with mine winning 8-7.  Good times and nice to catch up with a guy I hadn't seen in darn near 20 years.

Humble way for Duff to brag about his son.  As he SHOULD!  Do me a huge favor Duff and the first coach that "strongly suggests" your son cut weight please put him in a rare naked choke that educates him on the modern coaching philosophies.   ;D

Well, yeah, you've got to!

Actually, that was a pretty cool story Duff. Although one of us would have asked for the outcome if you hadn't told us.  ;D

Almost as frequent as Stanbob jumps in to post about the Tommies, while telling you he doesn't care about the Tommies. Riiiiight. You really have to admire the unhealthy obsession from Stanbob.

When I was a student, the favorite Johnnie place in St. Cloud was the Modern Bar, I think on St. Germain. It also burned down maybe in the '90s.

Begging the question -- what qualified as modern when you were in school? :)
