If the next round is Elmhurst vs Emory...

I assume that is in Atlanta?

Selection Sunday Resumes
* Emory: .840/.562/6-1 (South #2)
* Elmhurst: .821/.546/4-2 (Central #2)

Seems likely regardless of the state of the Faganel floor. (Apologies in advance if I've missed any further update about that.)
Agree...seems like Emory would be the higher seed there.
Emory on east side of Atlanta.  It is the school Asa Candler built i.e., founder of the Coca Cola Company.  To this day, executives of Coca Cola make generous donations to Emory as well as funding from Candler's numerous foundations.

All of which moot since Emory lost.

Will Clausel hit Mike Pollack on a well-designed backdoor cut, and Pollack's layup with three seconds left sends defending champion UW-Oshkosh to oblivion, 84-82, in a game that had a little bit of everything.

NCC comes back from way down, to win in OT.  Two CCIW teams in the Sweet Sixteen.  Great to see. Congrats to NCC on their big comeback win over Oshkosh.

Caught much of the 2nd half. Incredibly entertaining game. A lot of NCC players deserve a shout out for taking down the defending National Champs, but I think 6'4" (maybe a bit generous?) Will Clausel's defense on 6'8" Jack Flynn was as noteworthy as any. What a tremendous effort by that young man.

Amazing might be an understatement.   Cardinals dug a 15 point hole with 3:52 remains in first half.
Connor Raridon limited to 6 points, set much of 2nd half on bench with four fouls and then fouls out with 3:02 remaking In OTwith tie at 77-77.

Big effort by Blaise Meredith tonight ending up with 23 points.  Clausel big off bench with 11 and 6 big boards and Pollack finishes with 17 on 5-6 3 pt FG including some big treys.  Cardinals really stepped up when Raridon had to sit out with 4 fouls.

We might have seen the championship game tonight but if not certainly had a championship feel.  Well played by both teams!  And as usual, a well coached game by Todd Raridon.

Those three guys were huge, but Matt Cappelletti made two of the biggest plays of the night. His trey with fifteen seconds left in regulation put NCC ahead by two, a necessary margin on a night when Jack Flynn in the paint seemed like a money deuce every time down the floor for UW-Oshkosh. (And it proved to be just that, as he hit the layup with two seconds left that let the Titans force the extra session.) And it was Cappelletti's leaping-out-of-bounds offensive rebound and mid-air pass with 17 seconds left in OT after a Meredith miss that kept the possession alive for the Cardinals and enabled them to play for the last shot with the shot clock turned off, resulting into the Clausel-to-Pollack game-winner.

Yep, very much so.

Greg - It was nice to see Cardinals step up in a game where Connor Raridon did not have his best stat sheet night,  Connor has put this team on his back and carried so often over his career.

CCIW fans can be thankful the Cardinals and Bluejays as "birds of a feather" are still in the tournament when the WIAC now has none.  Hum, maybe Rock Island version of the Vikings and the Titans should have been ranked higher.   ;D :o

As a bonus -- both of them have an excellent shot at hosting next weekend based on other results this evening.

Having upperclassmen playing big roles -- especially seniors and fifth-year seniors -- is huge this time of year.  Oshkosh was IMO the best team the Sons of Warden have faced this year -- no disrespect to any of the CCIW powers, but the Titans are better than their record would suggest and present unique size challenges.  I have to think a less experienced team would not have been able to find a way back tonight.

Congrats to EC and NCC on their Sweet Sixteen results.  Super.  (and yes, IWU and Augie should have been ranked higher!  :)  ).

Keep in rolling.

Do we know if Elmhurst can host next weekend?  Wasn't there a facility issue for this weekend?

Mr. Raridon is an exemplary coach.  Does anyone know if he quietly sought new employers or was his name "out there" as looking to leave Lincoln?  Scroll down 9 1/8 to check CCIW representation.  One would think Raridon will have plenty of time to slot much higher.
