I like the small, independent restaurants. There's a small bistro, Bistro Thierry, in Melbourne run by a Frenchman named, not surprisingly, Thierry that does a spectacular steak and pommes frites. The French may have surrendered their country, their pride, their common sense and the keys to their shower rooms but Thierry at least never surrendered his skill at cooking a great steak with fries.

Chicago has some great steak houses, but i liked both Manny's
and Murray's, the Bulls balls on the picture is funny at Manny's ;D

Anyone heard anything on Trost?  He went down during the STO game.

Not a fan of the steakhouse home of the Bloomin Onion mate? What kind of Aussie are you.

Ha!  About 10 years ago we went to an Outback expecting there would be some kangaroo or pie floaters or chicken parma or something Aussie and it was all burgers.  It was obviously my fault.

World Series.  Game 7.

I remember that '87 against St Louis was the first time that the home team had won every game in the World Series. Will this possibly be then first time the away team has won every game?  Can you imagine the home fans never seeing their team get a victory in the series?  Crazy.

I was at that game. Got there like 3 hours early and me and my buddy just walked laps around the Dome. Tons of others doing the same.
After the game, there was no leaving downtown Mpls. Cars pouring in from every which way. Everyone cool, just celebrating. Never forget that night.

Random off topic question, what do you feel is the best steak house in the Twin Cities;
-Manny's
-Murray's
-Fogo De Choa
-Pittsburg Blue

Feel free to discuss.....

I'll throw in Lindey's in Arden Hills if you're into understated family type joints - which I love. Kind of a hole in the wall place. Near Bethel on the corner of a residential neighborhood. Family sized portions. Reasonable price once you factor in the portion size. A unique place. It's been a few years, but I really enjoyed it.

A meat pie, by the way, is a beef and gravy mixture cooked in a hand sized pastry like a small fruit pie. There are heaps of combinations like curries or different gravies that make them very delicious.

And a pie floater is a pie sunk in a bowl of pea soup. Extra savoury and just the thing to hit the spot on a cold, wet winters day down at the pub with a pint of beer.

This week’s game notes include this little factoid. Talk about an unexpected start.

Quote
Senior quarterback Jackson Erdmann has thrown a touchdown pass in 33 consecutive starts and 34 straight games overall. In fact, there is only one game in Erdmann's career (39 appearances) in which he did not throw a touchdown...for the Johnnies. On Oct. 22, 2016, Erdmann entered the game in the third quarter at Gustavus Adolphus ahead 42-7 and went 0-for-2 passing, including a 17-yard interception return for a touchdown on his first attempt.

I was also there in 87-pretty crazy.
And downtown was crazy after the game-buses being rocked and forth by the fan/mob.
In other news, VOJ and Rossi debating the merits of the East on Twitter. Go VOJ
After his second touchdown catch in a record-setting day, St. John's receiver Will Gillach pointed skyward. That, folks, was for former head coach John Gagilardi. The legendary coach of the Johnnies for 60 seasons and 64 in college overall died Sunday. He was 91. His 489 victories are most in college football history in any division.

Dang. Might have to pull up the laptop and an incognito to catch that, as Frank still has me blocked from when UST and Brockport lost to UMHB and he didn't like my perspective.

Four'N Twenty. Used to see their signs at the footy stadiums back when I was able to get the matches on cable.
