Oops??  What does that mean?

Ralph Turner

d3d3, I had answered your previous quesiton that Rockford was my top pick among the Pool B's. :-\

d3d3

So with this loss, does it knock them out of a Pool B spot as of now?  I know they haven't played a difficult schedule and they aren't in a tough conference but does this hurt their chances?  If not, do they need to win out though to stay, in your opinion.

Also, what is there SOS?

Ralph Turner

d3, Pat has posted the QOWI's of the Top 100 schools on both the Pool B and Pool C board.

I have not looked at Benedictine's QOWI.
I have not ruled out Rockford as a Pool B.

Let's see what the Regional Rankings are this week.

Unlike the Men's Rankings, I do not see a single Pool B Women's team ranked today.

I've got Wash and Jeff at 15-4 in region. I think you missed the Thomas More loss.

d3d3

Does anyone have any opinions on who the 4 Pool B bids will be awarded to?

Ralph Turner

These are the teams that I see as the best candidates.

Updated Quality of Wins Index through games of Feb. 16:

68.  Chapman    9.615    10-3
78.  Maryville (Tenn.)    9.450    16-4
79.  Washington and Jefferson    9.444    15-3
91.  Rockford    9.136    17-5

118.  Piedmont    8.800    15-5  Piedmont is on the bubble and might get a Pool B bid by defeating Maryville TN in the GSAC Tourney and getting lots of help elsewhere. :)

I may not understand the selection dynamics that occur on the conference call, but I believe that the "first criterion among equals" is head-to-head.  In the case of Maryville and Piedmont, Maryville has defeated Piedmont twice this season.  That weighs heavily in my mind.

I noticed that Rockford lost this weekend to Clarke College from Dubuque, IA who was 8-17.  In saying that, I also saw they dropped in QOWI from #91 to somewhere beyond #120.

So does this put them outside looking in?  It looks like Piedmont and Thomas More are ahead of them now.

D3d3, there is a chance that Piedmont could go 2-1 in the GSAC tourney and see their QOWI drop!   :o  Two 9-point wins and a 7 point loss!  (I have not seen the GSAC tourney pairings, yet!  I did not find them on the GSAC site.)

Next year, the GSAC Women become Pool A.  Rockford and NIIC-LMC amalgamation should be Pool A.  W&J and TMore become Pool A in 2007-08.

Pool B will really be "bumbly", with the exception of conference realignments.

Thanks Ralph!

So since the past weekend where does it put those who are trying to get a Pool B selection on Monday?
