WHAT???  HSC lost???  I turned the game off with HSC up 14 with 3:16 left.  I'll need to watch the end of the game.

Watched the end of the game.  In addition to the missed FTs, there were two critical calls in the last minute, a jump ball call that went GCs way and a five second in bound violation by HSC.  Everything went GC's way...  Congrats, HASA!
Improbable to be sure.  Since Kimbrough played for Palombo and was his assistant, they know each other well.  Hoping today's game will be a good one.  i have to think this bolsters Guilford's NCAA chances.

 "Never give up."  Jim Valvano

This game will be added to Guilford basketball lore ... and there are many.

I'm sincerely hoping RMC, GC and HSC all get bids.

Amazing 4 OT game between Roanoke and W&L. RC could have won multiple times earlier but couldn't hit free throws.
Benefits RMC ... tired legs tomorrow.

^^^ I watched most of that women's game yesterday. After the first quarter the Jackets were outplayed. As you say, anything can happen.

The unstated part of your comment about today's quarterfinals seems to be that you don't think Bridgewater is likely to upset Guilford. I feel the same way. But what if that's wrong?
I just feel Hasa's Quakers have a chip on their shoulder and are probably the most dangerous team in the field, a "Wounded Bull", to coin a phrase. I'm certainly not taking anything away from Bridgewater, they are certainly equally capable of the upset, but I think the proverbial "carrot on the stick" for Guilford is the opportunity to both play and beat a HSC team that they lost to earlier and also to get another shot at our Jackets( providing we win through of course)who they REALLY want to beat .....PLUS it would punch their ticket to the NCAA's! I was gonna go with my son to meet a bunch of R-MC friends tomorrow but he was out of town all this week on the west coast for work( hes a HSC 2020 grad) PLUS the fact that the finals are at 345 PM Sunday in SALEM( a 4.5 hr drive for us), which for us is either stay an extra night after the game or get home at midnight or after, which isn't for me or my son this week! Ill watch from the comfort of my home and hope for hosting and THEN go see my Jackets in the NCAA's in ALWAYS CRAZY AND RAUCOUS  Crenshaw GYM!
I'll certainly be watching tonight!

Admit it, Macon fans, you were biting your nails in the 2nd half of both games versus GC.  :)

The first game was a nailbiter from start to finish. The largest lead by either team was seven points. Saturday's game was a different story. Given R-MC's 17 point halftime lead, the nail biting didn't start until about five minutes into the second half.
And GC had the 7 point lead.  :(

ABSOLUTELY HASA! Your boys SCARE ME! To be honest, I would rather have lost to you last Saturday than in the ODAC finals! Would have looked better to the powers that be...Now we just have to keep grinding.... Pressure mounts as we get closer....Tournament looks like a barn burner! GOOD LUCK TO ALL!! It's a NEW SEASON if you keep winning!
RMC and GC may or may not meet again, but there's a basketball axiom that it's hard to beat a good team 3 times in one season.  Let the games begin!

HSU is a lock, Guilford is a bubble-in team.
Just to clarify, HSU is in Texas ... HSC is in VA.

Are you going to the game Hasa??
I was at the women's game, but was unable to stay for the nightcap.  It's a long story, but I was very disappointed I couldn't be there.  Congratulations to the Yellow Jackets.

HUGE GAME  in Ragen-Brown this afternoon for Guilford vs our Jackets! Their backs are against the wall and they are extremely dangerous at home, especially against us! We have already clinched first seed in the tournament so it's a classic "trap game" .....we have to play for pride and drive to the prize. Let's see who has the most  " ooomph"!, Gonna be a great game!! Go Jackets!!
Guilford is a lock for 3rd in the ODAC no matter what happens today, but their stock with the NCAA will be greatly improved if they win.  The Guilford players know they're capable of winning.   It should be a great game!  Go Quakers!

So, are you saying that whomever scores 56 points on Saturday will win?
56 was the losing score in Ashland!
