Coach Finstock - "There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that and everything else is cream cheese."

Quiet time of year with little to no football news.  Here are some links to the ARC schools homecoming videos.  While we all think the school we cheer for is the best, these videos show you can have a great time at each of our conference schools.

Good stuff!  If you know when and where to look, and you are quick, you get pretty good look at Fannosaurus Rex up in the stands cheering on The Dutch.

Quote from a story posted today about football awards:

"And, in what coach Jeff McMartin described as one of the "best-kept secrets in college football," it was revealed that Hawkins went on his record-breaking binge while playing the last half of the season with a broken bone in the wrist of his throwing hand. Hawkins made the decision to continue playing following the injury, but it required surgery following the season."

At the end of the article it had a list of players mentioned in the story and the roster listing information. The good news is apparently Hawkins and all his 5th year pals have gone back to Junior status. Guess you'll see them again next year!  ;D ;D ;D Don't I wish!

There are alot of specters in those pictures.  I hope there is a line in the budget for Ghostbusters.

The daughter of a friend of mine says the UD campus reminds her of Hogwarts, so I guess ghouls, ghosts, poltergeists, and specters would feel at home there  ;)

I'm curious when spring practices for the ARC schools will take place.  Also curious if anyone out there has any conference scuttlebutt.  Coaches coming/going.  Any recruiting news? Transfer news? Stadium news?

Simpson?
A number of schools, Simpson among them, have stopped participating in this survey. In past years, Coe and Simpson were in neighborhood of where Central and Cornell were those years they all were in the survey.

Outside the Crate

Wartburg announced their 2022 football schedule:
9-3     at Monmouth (IL)
9-10   Univ of Wis Stout
9-17  Luther
9-24   at Dubuque
10-1  Loras
10-8   at Central
10-15 Nebraska Wesleyan
10-29 at Buena Vista
11-5   Simpson
11-12 at Coe

The really weird (and unfair, I think) thing about this schedule is that Wartburg must play Central in Pella for the third time in a row and fifth time in six years (16, 17, 19, 21, and 22).  Of course, there are similar "inequities" for other members, too.

Pat Coleman

Guessing that is exacerbated by not having a 2020 season.
