Honestly, I'm not sure why we don't read anything about him here in this room. I think that our resident NCC fan has only posted about Matt Helwig once or maybe twice this season. I mean, there's no rule here that says that you have to wear a green uniform in order to get hyped on CCIW Chat.

This also isn't the only place there is discussion about CCIW and D3 players anymore.  On Twitter for example I've had a whole lot to say about how great Matt Helwig is.  Many others have too.

Webster?????  That kinda deflates the description "good field"....  I'm a SLIAC fan, but.....

Had an unexpected cancellation...they are the replacement.  Scheduling is hard.

Please ask Ron Rose the field for next seasons Jack Sikma Invitational on Hoopsville. This season was so good, I'm already looking forward to next season.  He might not answer, but it's always a free question right  ;)

I think we know YU is coming? The other two though?

UW-Stevens Point, Webster, IWU, Yeshiva

Thank you TitanQ. Another good field. I apologize if I missed this somewhere a while back.

You did not miss...that is the first time anyone has asked!

Are the matchups set yet?  I'd love to see how the pack line defense matches up with the Yeshiva motion.

Matchups not set yet.  I get to share my opinion on that with Coach Rose if any ideas.

I know the tourney has been moved from Fri/Sat to Sat/Sun for the Macs.

My thought is Yeshiva should get to play both IWU and UW-Stevens Point.  Take a trip to the midwest and get traditional CCIW and WIAC powers.  Maybe do a classic format possibly who knows.

IWU 80
Elmhurst 76

-Matt Leritz: 27 pts, 10 reb, 3 assists
-Luke Yoder: 27 pts, 6 reb, 5 assists
-Ryan Sroka: 16 pts, 5 reb, 2 assists

-Jake Rhode: 30 pts, 7 reb, 5 assists
-Wes Hooker: 20 pts, 3 reb

FG:
-Elmhurst: 26-64 (.406)
-IWU: 29-45 (.644)

IWU was kind of out of sorts most of the game - 23 turnovers, which is just crazy for this team.  But boy did the Titans find a way.  IWU has some talented, tough, competitive guys and they made big play after big play first just to stay in it, and then to take the lead.

Matt Leritz hit 3 tough FGs just to keep the Titans in it down the stretch.  Cody Mitchell hit a big jumpshot and 2 huge FTs.  Ryan Sroka was great as well.

I thought IWU PG Luke Yoder was just tremendous.  He is a great player.

Big win for the Titans.  In every championship run there are a few games like this where you just have to find a way...and IWU did today.

I think today is IWU's last game w/out starting SG Cory Noe.

Cory (14.4 ppg, .509 FG) is key to everything the Titans do.  He's a terrific shooter who keeps defenses honest in how they guard IWU in the post. Big moment shot maker and FT shooter.

Gotta grind one more out w/out him.

Hope and Calvin are not doing enough, consistently, to become regionally ranked.  And it's hurting IWU's Results vs Regionally Ranked Opponent situation.

I'll ask both to get it together moving forward.

Thanks.

Just win the CCIW and you won't have to worry about what's going on over here in the MIAA :)

In a battle for seeding with lots of locals - WashU, UWP, UWO.  Need as many RROs as possible.

Help us out!

I don't see the UAA race being very close at the top.  I don't think any of those other teams are anywhere near WashU overall.

With road wins over Emory and Rochester already in hand, I can see 1 total UAA loss for the Bears...but not 2.

I think the battle for 2nd place will be very tight.

IWU 83
Augustana 78

https://www.iwusports.com/boxscore.aspx?id=13664&path=mbball

-Matt Leritz: 26 pts, 7 reb
-Luke Yoder: 15 pts, 4 reb
-Pete Lambesis: 12 pts, 3 reb, 4 assists
-Nick Roper: 11 pts, 4 reb

-Dan Carr: 28 pts, 14 reb
-Matt Hanushewsky: 16 pts, 5 reb, 4 assists
-Nicolas Giliberto: 12 pts

IWU led most of the game - probably by an average of 8 or so - but things ended up getting a bit dicey in the final couple minutes.  IWU PG Luke Yoder, who I think is one of the more "underrated" guys in the CCIW, was awesome for the Titans in closing it out.

Matt Leritz had a tremendous game.  With Augie doubling him every time he touched it, Matt had 26 tough points.

IWU 6-8 freshman G Nick Roper is getting better and better.  He is going to be a stud for the Titans.  His 2nd half dunk - https://twitter.com/IWUhoopscom/status/1482491450571083783?s=20.

Dan Carr is a great player - IWU had no answer for him.

Augie is playing with a ton of confidence right now - totally different team than the one that got pounded at Millikin.

This is a great IWU team -- every bit a national championship contender.  It will be nice to get 2nd leading scorer (and best shooter) Cory Noe back.
