I'm re-launching this board on request. Hopefully it will do better than the last one did, which was closed after nobody posted in it more almost a year.

I'll give it a shot. Has anyone seen the Muhlenberg group run the Grinnell-style system? How does it look compared to last year? I applaud Coach Rohn for making the decision last year with a program that had some success without the use of the system. There's something to be said for including as many players as possible in what you're trying to accomplish.

trick

I have seen the Muhlenberg ladies play and they have had a lot of success with it, I think that you need the team and players to buy into it as well.  To play 2 mins at a time could be a style many players would not buy into. I think Winning helps them buy it.

However, I have to say the big news in conference is the ladies at Dickinson College. To be 6-1 without the aid of a starter last year. I think that their win against McDaniel makes them a contender as well...any thoughts?

Retired Baller

I can't believe Dickinson beat McDaniel. What was the score? Was anyone at the game? Could Dickinson really be a contender?

trick

Dickinson won by 6 or so. Also took that high powered Muhlenberg team out of it last night and are now 7-1 and are 3-1 in conference, with wins against the Mules and McDainel, in their only meeting!

Muhlenberg was terrible from the field in their game against Dickinson.  I was shocked to see the final score, thinking it was inverted.  To hold a team that runs the "system" to 57 points is impressive.

Dina Henry has done a heck of a job in her second season with the Red Devils who are competitive in the conference this year for the first time...in...

Oh god, I don't know...I can't think back that far.  In fact, I don't know if the Dickinson women's team has ever been successful, and I went there.  Never in my four years there (1998-2002), a few years before that, and until this season had there been some excitement around Dickinson women's basketball...but it seems somewhat justified now.

A trip to the CC playoffs would be a significant accomplishment.

The Dickinson - Hopkins game this saturday at 11 am might be the game of the year in the conference.  Any predictions?  My key player will be Jess Howard and the match up with Felix - any ideas?

Pat Cummings

Dickinson leads JHU 25-24 at the half.  Coverage on WDCV-FM.

Red Devils win 55-48...first place, and their best season ever.

Pat Cummings

Not a stretch to say that either...

THE games of the year in the CC will be the possible final four of the CC tournament; Dickinson v Gettysburg and McDaniel v Johns Hopkins ... not to mention the final that will follow.

Can't wait!

It's been fun to watch the CC women's side this year with the emergence of Dickinson into the fray.  The run the the finish should be as exciting.

Too bad Dickinson fans have such little sportsmanship.  I don't think much of any team that allows their fans to celebrate when an oposing player is injured.

mac fan

i'm not sure that the team has much control over their fans!  seems sad though that fans would be that rude! looking forward to seeing where dickinson fairs in post season! seems as though they will be in the hunt! will look to see if they match up with a mac team! gotta love this time of the year!
