By the way, that 4,461 was in Salem in 1999 when HSC played Platteville.  Thought I'd mention that since Pat didn't.

Any update on Jabril's status for Macon for this weekend's games?  I know him being able to play would be huge for Macon.

It is a nice piece.  I commented on it this morning and my comment is no longer there.  HSC made the Final Four during the 1998-99 season (losing to Platteville in 2OT by 1 in the championship game) and during the 2002-03 season.  So they are actually playing for their third trip to the Final Four.

I agree that RMC should be hosting.  Was surprised, but happy, that Guilford gets to host.  Would have been upset if HSC didn't host.  Best of luck to all three teams next weekend!

Hoopsville currently projecting Macon, Guilford, and VWU in.  They are discussing the final spot and W&L was in the convo, but they ultimately didn't feel they would get it.

Macon,
You beat me to it.  I think VWU is high enough up in the Regional Rankings they very likely get in.  Currently they are ahead of Christopher Newport in the Regional Rankings and a win over Guilford can only help them.  Then consider that there four losses against Regionally Ranked teams are as follows - HSC 2x, RMC and GC each once.  They also have a win over RMC and two wins over GC as well as a win over CNU.  I think they at least remain at #4 in the regional rankings if they don't win the ODAC and get to the table quickly.  We'll find out soon.

Had missed the board!  Glad it is back up and running.  Thanks to the staff at d3sports for all they do to promote and report on D3 athletics!

HSC defeats John Carroll 85-67.

HSC defeats Widener 72-63.  HSC led 36-24 at the half.  Widener cut it to 4 twice in the 2nd half, I think.  HSC's biggest lead was 14.

HSC up 31-29 at half.  Was up 11 but let Emory back in it.

Congrats to GC on taking advantage of the opportunity HSC gave them.  They made the plays and HSC did not.  Three things I feel are worth mentioning.
1. HSC had two ball handlers injured earlier in the game who did not return.  Ryan Clements did not play any in the 2nd half.  DJ Wright got injured early in 2nd half and did not return.  Didn't really hurt HSC until GC started pressing.  I'll concede that with these two playing in the game at HSC earlier in the season, GC cut into HSC's lead with the press even when they were available.  Still, it wouldn't have hurt to have two more experienced ball handlers available.
2.  GC was down 10 with about 3:08 to go.  They cut it to 4 over a little less than 40 seconds.  HSC made some bad plays during this time, but GC's #0, who hit the game winner, was draped all over Adam Brazie for HSC.  The no calls during that time and not being able to get the ball to Brazile had a huge impact on GC coming back.
3.  As mentioned earlier by another poster, there was a huge 5 second call against HSC.  Coach Kimbrough appeared adamant he called a timeout prior to the whistle being blown.  I can't say one way or the other because I was watching the play on GC's end, so he was out of my line of sight.

Overall, not the result I wanted, but GC deserves all the credit for taking advantage of the opportunities (missed free throws and shots, turnovers, rushed possessions) they were given.  Good luck to Macon and GC today.

Congrats to Lynchburg on a good season.  They came up just short tonight losing 97-94.  They trailed by 15 in the game and fought back.  OWU had 3 players with 22 points and another with 20.  Two other players scored for them with 7 and 4 respectively.

Congrats to Lynchburg for their 82-55 victory tonight.  Best of luck tomorrow.  Continue representing the ODAC well.

Based on the Regional Rankings, it does not appear that the USA South would get two bids.  They could possibly if NC Wesleyan makes it to Championship game and loses (which can't happen since they lost),but that depends on if they ever make it to the table for discussion and how they compare to teams from the other regions if they do.

As for the OOC results, this is not a true indicator of how good the best teams in the conference are but rather a general measure of overall conference strength.  You also have to consider who the competition is when looking at the OOC results, which is why I believe VWC is ahead of NC Wesleyan in the Regional Rankings with more loses.  I am betting VWC has a higher Strength of Schedule and more wins versus regionally ranked opponents.

It's $10 per session or $30 to attend all 4 sessions for men or women.  By the way, all of the higher seeds won tonight setting up some interesting matchups for Friday.
