Video of Kratz hitting the game-winning HR at the IL All-Star game.

Wolf was named the CL Pitcher of the Week (7/6-12)
Kulik was named the TL Pitcher of the Week (6/29-7/5)

Update on Jordan Zimmermann:

While hardly a rookie-of-the-year candidate, he's having a not-at-all-bad season with the worst team in baseball. :P

He's currently 3-5 (.375, vs. the team's overall .313), with a 4.63 era.  In 91.1 innings, he has 92 Ks, 29 BBs.  I'd say his job is pretty secure. :)

Thanks.  I'd forgotten that Washburn was D3.  I was a bit of a fan of French, so had mixed feelings about the trade.  May Washburn pull a Doyle Alexander, and neither French or Robles morph into John Smoltz!  (Unless they come back to the Tigers, of course! ;D)

Rottino is moving on as well. He was traded to the Dodgers organization for Claudio Vargas.

Also, Hirsh was dealt to the Yankees org.

After a shakey start, Chez Angeloni (Johns Hopkins) has settled down in the Red Sox (GCL) bullpen.  He's pitched 8.1 shutout innings in his last four appearances.
A walk is never as good as a hit!

Alas, Washburn is off to a rough start in his Tigers' debut.  Gave up 6 earned runs in 5.1 innings, picked up the loss.

May he more closely resemble Doyle Alexander in the future! :D

Furbush was named the FSL Pitcher of the Week on Aug. 3.

Caught a wisconsin Timber Rattlers' game last week and watched Chapman's Mike Vass unload on a ball that hit the top of the scoreboard at fox Cities Stadium (Home of the DIII World Series).
Baseball is not a game that builds character, it is a game that reveals it.

Zimmerman out for the rest of the season and likely all of 2010 as well.....

Cub,
That is AWFUL!!!!!!!!!!!  Have been following him this season.

Just a shame!

Gustie13

Thats a big blow to the nationals, sounded like they had big plans for him. Hopefully he can come back strong in 2011   :-\

RSSmith

Angeloni continues to do well in the Gulf Coast League.  In his last 10 appearances he's given up only 3 earned runs in over 21 innings (1.25 ERA) and has a WHIP under 1.0.
