I've heard Rick Fox's name circulated lately. Believe he got an on-campus interview. Also hear Jesse Scott has a solid chance as well.

Fox is a Wheaton 84' Wheaton alum and prior HC at Drake. Currently assistant at Taylor. I would be very surprised if they went this route.

Give the job to a young alum eager to take the program over the hurdle who learned from Swider.

Mount was quite a bit faster than Wheaton.  I'll be surprised if it's Jesse Scott at this point.

The irony of Mt Union and Wheaton is that Mt's new head coach, Geoff Dartt was Wheaton's Oline coach for 3 years before he went back to Mt Union. Jesse Scott took over the OLine when Geoff left.

I was thinking this also. I don't think that's a bad thing, though. Shows they're taking the search seriously.

Jesse Scott would be one of the best coaches, a great choice IMHO.  He learns.  He gets better every year.  I hope its someone that is committed to only working for Christian Institutions.  In Basketball a team may have 20 players football has 120 plus.  Their must be weekly chapel meetings that is a priority.

Why MUST they have chapel?
Soli Deo gloria ("to God alone be glory")
For accountability and support on players personal life.

Wheaton FB update: As I understand the final candidates are interviewed as of today and an offer will be made by early next week. I expect some kind of announcement by mid next week, depending on finalizing of details.

Thanks USee.  Looking forward to seeing who it ends up being.

Any murmurs about Rutter's performance at the Hula Bowl practices?

I see that the St Johns OL who's at the Senior Bowl is making some waves. May be a Top 100 pick!

Hula Bowl halftime update:

Broc Rutter threw a TD in his only drive. His team's only TD of the half.
