The CCIW is currently 52-24 (.684) in non-con play, with these five games remaining:

Wed, Jan 3: Edgewood @ Elmhurst
Sat, Jan 6: Carthage @ Illinois Tech
Tue, Jan 16: Finlandia @ North Central
Sat, Jan 20: Illinois Tech @ Wheaton
Tue, Feb 6: East-West @ North Park

We now swing back into the traditional conference portion of the season, with these five games on tap for Wednesday evening at 7 pm:

Augustana (10-1, 2-0) @ Illinois Wesleyan (9-3, 2-1)
Carroll (4-7, 0-2) @ Wheaton (8-3, 2-1)
Carthage (7-4, 2-1) @ North Central (7-4, 1-2)
Millikin (8-4, 1-2) @ North Park (3-7, 0-2)
Edgewood (4-7) @ Elmhurst (8-3)

Here's Massey's take on Wednesday:

Augustana 76, Illinois Wesleyan 73  (AC 61%, IWU 39%)
Wheaton 77, Carroll 68  (WC 80%, CU 20%)
North Central 72, Carthage 69  (NCC 58%, CC 42%)
North Park 71, Millikin 64  (NPU 74%, MU 26%)
Elmhurst 81, Edgewood 66  (EC 92%, Edgewood 8%)

Note that Massey hasn't inputted all of the games of the past few days, so these predictions may shift a bit between now and Wednesday.

Massey seems a lot further behind than usual.

Maybe Professor Massey is up for tenure this year?

Honestly, with Matt Snyder adding a Predict Your Own match-up feature, I do not even bother with Massey anymore.

It's interesting that Augustana clocks in with only one "Top Four" player (Orange), yet still has the best record so far.

Well, it's not a ranking of players.  It is just a list of players, sorted by points scored per game.

If we were to somehow rank players based on overall value (offense, defense, leadership, other intangibles, etc), I'm sure Augustana would have several "Top Four" players.

Startin' out the New Year on the right foot.  8-)

There's very little difference between what Matt's predicting and what Ken's predicting. Here's what we get from the Dean of Knight Slappy U. for Wednesday night in the CCIW:

Augustana 74, Illinois Wesleyan 69
Wheaton 75, Carroll 67
North Central 71, Carthage 67
North Park 71, Millikin 66
Elmhurst 79, Edgewood 63

Imitzel, thanks for your take on Sorenson's 54.

Looking forward to all of Wednesday's games, esp.  NCC vs. CC.

IWU'70

Big game against a tough CC team for NCC which was ranked #12 pre-season, but already has 2 conference losses. With the 2 conference losses, a total of 4 losses, and a meat grinder of a remaining conference schedule, it feels as though the Cardinals are already in a major battle for inclusion in both the conference and national tournaments. They need to step up both mentally 🧠 and physically ⛹🏼‍♂️, and play the type of 🏀 that their talents should enable them to.

iwu70

AO, a real big game for NCC.  I'm looking forward to it.

I don't think my Greenies can stay with Augie.  Just hasn't come together yet for the TITANS.  I'm surprised Massey and others have it so close.

Yup, a meat-grinder now, as you put it, for everyone.  No easy games left.
