kinda feeling frisky today so....this is directed towards K2D... If you are who I think you are (based on your pic of throwing an elbow because you couldn't jump.... or shoot, handle the ball, defend outside the block, etc...), you were what i thought you were! (gosh I love that quote, its become mainstream).   If you know/knew so much about basketball, and Calvin basketball and KVS, then you shouldn't have played there!!!

Feel free to debate someone's post, like this for example.  But don't feel compelled to bully everyone that supports the current staff Mr. Smartypants, even though I do not.  But I also have thought that Powell sucked since he was a soph is HS and Snikkers is so incredibly limited basketball wise and a poor "leader of men" but a heck of an athlete.

If you are not the person in your pic....so irrelevant I don't recall the players name, I kinda apologize but that player was horrible too.

Commence Karma deductions!!!

Yea, I agree with hoopdreams. Knight2Day, you are an idiot. You constantly complain about KVS and Calvin's record. I haven't posted in a couple years but I am so sick of hearing you cry. Are you even a Calvin fan? Or are you still butt-hurt about not playing enough when you were "at a high level"? You do not know more than you think. You think that Calvin, and the rest of the MIAA, is a D1 program that should treat their programs and athletes like a D1 program. If you KNOW so much, then you would know that Calvin, Hope, Albion and other programs in DIII are responsible for developing strong CHRISTIAN men first, education second, and maybe athletics third. Your ideas of what Calvin should be doing is so far off from what this school stands for it is stupid. If you want to cry about a programs winning percentages and its coaching stuff, without looking at the big picture of developing these men into leaders for Jesus, then you need to find a new team, school, and division. I am not sure of KVS statistics, but I would agree that he has underachieved in some years. Yes, he has NOT pulled the same talent as Hope. Deal with it. BUT, also deal with his 8 or 9 conference titles, and a national championship that no one else in the MIAA has...KVS IS a well respected coach, and any DIII program would be lucky to have him, his ideals, and his Christian viewpoints on educating students. Again, stop you incessant moaning about Calvin, you sound like you are on a death bed...

Its good to be back on the board again after such a long time. almcguirjr it's nice to be in good company again.

Is there any way that we can change the post topics from karma to the upcoming season. Who is the favorite-MVP-who has got the best shot to represent the MIAA in the Dance?

Now all I need is a couple of good arguments between shareef2323 and sac and I will again be reliving the good ole days.

Is it almost time to start wearing the WWKVSD? shirts again?

I have a question for anyone but mostly Hopers. What was the deal with Mr. Tim Partridge that he transferred for the College of Charleston? Was he there for his first three years of collegiate basketball? I just dont understand why someone who is playing there for three years would want to transfer to Hope for his last season and pay 25 thousand dollars. I just seems like an interesting situation to me. If someone could fill me in I would be grateful.

WWKVSD? had a meeting with the Veltema's this week and the kid from Ckarlotte was at Calvin's open gym this week. The kids from Covenant are almost a lock for Calvin this year, its a bout time that Calvin got back into the Protestant Reformed community. As for the kid for Ottowa Hills going to Albion that is a huge pick up, considering that Lonny Fulse may never reach his potential. And as for the transfer-----lets not be HOPE. We all learned this year thanks to HOPE that transfers wont win you
CHAMPIONSHIPS. The last time I checked since WWKVSD? was in charge the last ten years they have won 5 conference tilles and 5 MIAA conference tournament CHAMPIONSHIPS. The last time I checked noone else in the area regardless of NCAA or NAIA have done that. i think that KVS has some good morals and KARMA on his side.

"Got Karma?" will be in the dick tonight.

I agree-I think everybody sucks. Especially the committee.

Wow what a weekend. Congratulations to the Hopers for winning the MIAA tourney and getting to play WI-Lutheran.

Calvin should squeek by Lacrosse to get to Hope Sat.

Interesting as usual what the committee was thinking. I realize that this match up will bring the best publicity for the NCAA but come on, whoever wins that game is going to the final four.

Lastly, too bad the brits didnt get in it would have been nice to see Brandon Crawford humiliate some peeps from an Ohio school. Looks like Ole' Turner will be back again for another year.

Happy postings-see you all FRI and SAT.
Maybe I should wear a t-shirt simply saying KARMA.

WOW!!!!!!
Calvin and H--e who woulda thought? Congrats to both teams. I predict a Calvin win by 5.  How bout those WWKVSD? t-shirts. Goodnight

I also thought about making shirts that say

GOT INTEGRITY?

I think I'll bust those out tomorrow night just for Sac and Shareef2323

That way they can sit by each other

I just want everyone to know that because of how much I love our chat room I went out and made a couple of WWKVSD? t-shirts-and I will be sporting one tonight. I hope to get some good karma for this.

Zwier is going on a combo scholarship to Craperstone. It's really too bad. I was at the K Christian C Christian game last night. It was a terrible game but K came out on top by ten. Veltema had a rough night. He was maybe 4-12 with no threes. Zwier didnt have a standout game either. both of them however could make an impact in the MIAA right away next year. Lets just hope that Veltema doesnt go to Cstone too.

Well its been a long time since I have posted. Congatulations to the Calvin Knights for winning the MIAA.
I just had a few things that I thought I would throw out there.

As far as how many teams are going to get into the little big dance from the MIAA it is hard to say but this is what I believe. Albion has to win out. As impressive as their first half start was-you can not expect to get an at large bid if you lose 4 conference games-and one of them was to...err Tri-State. I do think that they have potential to do damage in the tourney but they have struggled down the stretch.

Hope is a shoe-in if they get to the MIAA semifinals. That is all they realisticly need. They are the most talented team in the nation-I don't think that anyone will disagree with me. The only way they dont get in is if they lose to Alma-and if their regional rakings this week are still at 5 or below, and still then the teams ahead of them would have to lose in their conference tournaments as well. Hope is in.

Calvin's situation is a little more difficult than Hope's. I think that Calvin has to get to the MIAA final game and make it a close one. In my 10 years of following the MIAA and D3 for that matter I can not recall very many teams getting an at large bid with 6 losses. Even with the field expanding this year with 11 (I believe) more bids-I think that it will be difficult to get those away from the Ohio schools.

As far as the ALL-MIAA honors go

MVP-Brandon Crawford-The only other candidate that you could give it to would have to be from the Conference Champions. I don't think that Calvin has one specific player that KVS would feel comfortable nominating. I there is no way that having a freshman as MVP would fly.

1st Team ALL MIAA

Brandon Crawford
Zak Silas
Andy Phillips
Stephen Cramer
Eric Voison
Kyle Trewhella
Caleb Veldhouse
Andy Draayer

2nd Team

Mike Bailey
Marcus VanderHeide
Greg Immink
Josh Meckes
Kyle Snoeyink
Jeff Nokovich
Deandre Pruitt-Senior season
Tyler Worst

Freshman of the Year-Caleb Veldhouse-Calvin

Coach of the Year-Kevin Vande Streek-Calvin

I know that my all conference teams look biased but really I think that that is the way that the coaches will decide. Phillips and Voison are seniors-just the way that Trewhella and Draayer are. I would personally like to see Immink on that 1st team but I think that he was overshadowed and underappreciated this year. KVS will make sure that Tre and Draay will get 1st team before the Franchise will(Veldhouse).
As far as the second team is cooncerened-you could put anyone else on there with the kids from Cal,Hope,Alb and it would not matter.

Happy readings and I look forward to a good week of Basketball at the Calvin Fieldhouse. Out.
