Given the lack of activity on this board, I find it ironic that the Reddit user who just posted all the D3 conference title scenarios is a WPI fan...

Cross-posting from the Centennial Conference board. Might be on interest to NEWMAC followers. Preview of the Muhlenberg -MIT matchup that highlights the connection between the coaches of MIT and and the Mules.

QuoteNCAA Division III football playoffs: MIT at Muhlenberg features former teammates turned opposing head coaches

A few summers ago, Massachusetts Institute of Technology assistant football coach Brian Bubna came to Allentown with staffers to chalk talk with the Muhlenberg College coaches.

The MIT men toured the tranquil quads, the football facilities, the majestic dining hall.

Bubna (Hobart '04) felt at home breaking bread and breaking down blocking schemes with his former college teammate at Hobart College, Nate Milne (Hobart '03), an assistant on the Mules' staff.

Both were coaching under outstanding head coaches and happy trying to navigate Division III, where they'd once played on Hobart's first tournament teams.

Bubna's return to Scotty Wood Stadium Saturday at noon for an NCAA playoff game might not feel so collegial for the buddies who stay in contact during the season.

WPI and other NEWMAC teams should be releasing their fall schedules pretty soon. The Engineers have a strong one, opening at home under the FNL vs. Worchester (aka Woo) State. OOC games are Endicott and Montclair, both on the road. Home games are RPI, CUA, SC and CGA. NEWMAC roadies will be @ USMMA, NU and the season finale, @ MIT which is always a good one.

If there's a federal government shutdown this week, would Coast Guard football & other sports have to halt operations?

ITH radio

USCGA would not but I guess it's possible USMMA could, potentially. They have put some things in place since the last time to protect themselves more from the last shutdown debacle.

Merchant Marine and Catholic appear to be on a collision course on October 23. Hopefully both teams can keep up their end of the bargain until then. I for one didn't predict that October 23rd could of been the De Facto NEWMAC championship.

Ice Bear

Ice Bear has been surprised by both Catholic and MMA this season. Ice is looking forward to this match-up for sure.

Ice Bear says, aside from knowing Catholic is Pat's Alma... he had no ****ing clue about this football program. Safe to say with their recent success they've garnered Ice Bear's attention. Ice is happy with the success of both teams thus far and hopes for a great game with no injuries tomorrow!

They are playing pretty well and they have a nice young quarterback. Who knows if they can stop the option, though?!
