Short story concerning renovation at Carroll's basketball venue.

Oops, Mark. I think that one belongs to NAIA Carroll College in Montana, not NCAA D3 Carroll University of the CCIW.  ;)

Dave 'd-mac' McHugh

Yep. Not "our" Carroll. I made the same mistake, sadly.

IWU alum Jack Sikma ('77) has been chosen for the Small College Basketball Hall of Fame...

Sikma is IWU's all-time leading scorer and rebounder, and a 3-time CCIW M.O.P.  He was the 8th overall pick in the 1977 NBA draft and went on to be a 7-time NBA all-star.

Congrats, Jack!

Mark, or anyone else who's maybe been over to Elmhurst this summer - how late do they usually play?  I'm thinking of going to get a summer fix of D3.

The official hours at EC are 6:00 - 8:30. Occasionally, depending on that evening's attendance, they may quit a little earlier. Games are on Sun., Mon., & Wed. nights except for Mon 7/10, Wed 7/12, & Sun 7/23 which are at IIT. Last night is Wed 8/16.

Augie's schedule came out with 25 games, but a game vs Monmouth was dropped, so they're sitting at 24 games... wonder if they'll replace that game, and with whom....
The only thing not to be liked in Florida is no D3 hoops!!!

In an email I received from The Chronicle of Higher Education, which summarized research from philanthropy.com, comes this:

Evangelical Liberty University was among the organizations adding the most to its endowment relative to its spending. It added more than $1 billion to its endowment over the period studied and disbursed $2.3 million, or about $444 in for every $1 out.

Of those with the biggest endowments, the NCAA's incoming and outgoing numbers were among the closest. It brought in $5.3 billion over six years, while disbursing just under $5 billion.

No offense to Monmouth, but I guess I'd call that an upgrade to the schedule... ;D ;D ;D

Yeah, maybe Massey will finally have a non-WIAC team with the #1 schedule this year.  That's a pretty solid slate.  I suspect they're ready for it, though.

Interesting they are playing a single game vs Point in Wisconsin Dells. I know they have those double headers at Just a Game in the Dells, but this doesn't seem like that is part of it.
