With March Madness in full effect and people crying over getting beat, i.e. everyone who faces UCONN Women and unfortunately Coach K, I will say again, because it has also been said about Coach Fred at UMHB.  You play to win, and you play to fulfill the purpose for which your game is played.  If it is hoops, get that  ball in the hoop more times than your opponent and stop them from doing it to you; if it is baseball, score more runs and get more outs than the team in the other dug-out; and if it is football, you score more TD's and stop the other team from doing it.

If my first team beats yours, so be it; if your second and third team beat mine, so be it.  It is frustrating and it hurts, but if you line up and can't stop my guys from running the ball down the field, getting hits, or draining buckets, I should not have to apologize, because like UNI found against A&M, you can be beaten, and they slowed down, tried to run clock, and ended up losing. It can happen in any sport: just ask Reggie Miller and Spike Lee. Stop the  :'( and play the game.
Watch out for the wreckingCRU defense!!

Well if UMHB being home to a satellite camp frustrated some D1 coaches around the country they certainly won't like the latest news. If I am reading Coach Fredenburg tweet right, this years camps will feature Oklahoma State, Arizona State, Oregon State, K-State and apparently up to 4 more FBS programs and a FCS team.

Ah, thanks for the heads up.  To be honest, I don't check the homepage very often in the off-season.  I wasn't trying to steal d3football's thunder, Pat.   :)

A few thoughts:

-I like this year's schedule.  We get our arguably* 2 toughest opponents at home (Linfield, Hardin-Simmons).
-Of course, TLU has given us plenty of challenge recently, so that should be a fun away game.  I'm not really sure what to think of ETBU yet.
-McMurry back in the rotation and is eligible to win the conference.  The Cru had some competitive games against them in the past.  Interested to see how they perform in the first trip to the Cruthedral.

I drove through Alpine (home of Sul Ross State) on my way to Big Bend National Park over spring break.  It was a good opportunity to see how far a potential road trip it would make.  I clocked about 7.5 hours from my house.  I don't think I'll be making my way out there in October when the Cru plays the Lobos.

Hoot and a Howdy.  I'm passing through Abilene today, Thursday, 7th, and I'm spending the night at Best Western so I can take a look at HSU.
Can't get the little woman to commit to BBQ two hours out.

The ban has been overturned (at least for the time being).  So the camp is back on.

Two ETBU football players, Darrian "DJ" McClintock and Norvontre "Trey" Harrison, drowned Thursday in a Marshall pond.   Peace be with all those effected by this tragedy.

Its Official I have to say goodbye to the GNAC, my son is Jordan Narramore and played QB at Humboldt State for the last two years! Have been over on the D2 boards the last two years! Jordan is transferring and has accepted to play football and continue his education at the University of Mary Hardin Baylor in Texas! Had a great two years at Humboldt State and nothing but positive things to say about the coaches and the players, they were the ones that believed in Jordan coming out of High School..for that our family will always be a fan of ‪#‎JACKSBALL‬ No hard feelings at all just fell into a log jam at the QB position, and he wants to play now. The coaches were great in this whole process and every school we talked with said HSU had nothing but great things to say about my son! The Narramore family is excited for the opportunity this gives Jordan to play football at UMHB.. So turning in the green for purple GO CRU! and good luck to everyone in the GNAC thanks for a great two years of college football for my family, ready for some more fun in the ASC!
