Its funny- I have never given much thought to it but when a college has a jv football team- is it a true feeder of talent or just a place to put the kids who didnt quite live up to expectations.
Its a win for admissions and the Dean of students in terms of admission and retention but how often is it a feeder system to the varsity program?
Im asking this honestly as I have no idea.

Bartman,
Totally get it.
Those opening day games should be very interesting given the pedigrees but not sure how Hobart or Fisher stack up, but I am very hopeful for a bounce back year for Fisher!

Obviously the E8 team to beat is Bport.
What I am hoping for specifically is for Fisher to turn the program around and get back to their wining ways of old.
Brockport v Hobart and Fisher v Wash and Jeff are 2 really interesting games!

Ok- if that is the case- then why does Fisher not schedule another game?

A LL opponent perhaps?

Malone is a Dll Quaker school from Canton, Ohio. Just up the road from Mount Union. Was NAIA UNTIL several years ago. Good luck on the season. ☠🏈

With apologies to any Quakers that may see this, they aren't very good. They lose more than they win. Refused in the past to play Mount. Don't be concerned just because they are D2. 😀
Malone has also refused to play Wesley. Walsh is also another Ohio team that has said no (after being beaten in 2011).
I wasn’t too concerned about SJF playing a D2 team, I was actually more upset that they couldn’t schedule a game against a LL opponent.  Both Union and Hobart had open dates.

Im confused --- I look at the schedule on D3.com and Malone is on the Fisher sched.  On the Fisher site- it shows open date

As it stands now per Fisher- they open against W&J then a 2 week lapse before Ithaca and then Brockport.....Yikes!

Nice to see action on the boards!
Obviously Im a homer and I have to say that the 2006 Fisher team was one of the best I saw.
07 was amazing as well minus the hiccup down in Oneonta (god I hate Hartwick)......The 06 team was special- and when I traveled out to watch the Rowan game- I didnt quite know what to expect.  What I got was a total beat down of the beast from the east.  The Mount loss hurt but from all accounts- even from Mount fans themselves - there was a point in that game where it could have gone either way.

Oh to be back in those years......

Lets hope Vos rights the ship!

I concur,
What I will also say is that team speed should be equal in this matchup and it will come down to gameplan, execution and turnovers.

Brockport State fans

Congrats on a great year. You played tough against the number 1 team in thr nation. Many people thought it would be a UMHB blowout. Guess no one knew how good Brockport really was.
Although I am a Mount grad (oh really, MUC57, duh, would have never guessed), it was nice to see a real "East bracket". No Mount Union as top seed. Seems to me, this is the way it should be.
The "East Region" takes a bad rap every year. Justified? I'll let others debate that issue.
All I know is Brockport St. was a worthy representative of the region
I not only follow the Purple Raiders but Dlll in general. I'll have to keep my eye out next year for The Golden Eagles.(Not Boston College, the other ones)!
Have a good off season. See you next year!

Perfect example of what I said earlier....

*golf clap*

Well said MUC57

Well said Bartman,
The Cru crew is a classy bunch as is the purple raider clan.
I look forward to some insightful conversations leading up to the game.
