I think Bradley sat to give awareness to Rooney sitting for ManU. Those Brits are thick as thieves.

Loras game might not be pretty and I'm not a fan of it but, as it has been said before, you play with the hand that was dealt to you and I will take 4-0-1 record with 1 goal against and two victories over top five ranked teams any day over looking pretty. Four goals by four different players, can't beat that. Good to see the defense and new goalie are organized and don't give up a lot of easy chances. The rest of September will be interesting to see with Depauw, Western Illinois, and UW-Whitewater

Don't know if it's been asked and/or answered but I saw Messiah women lost also... When was the last final four that neither the Messiah men's or women's team made it???

My bracket is blown besides the left side I think. IMO I think it's Wheaton's championship to lose now

Madhatter5, every time I read your posts I am absolutely convinced that you are Jack Nicholson.  Very effective whatever you call those things.  Who knew Jack cared about the IIAC???

I hope while you read my posts you are reading them in a Jack voice as well. Preferably Jack from The Departed.

I personally know Jack and I know he keeps up with every IIAC throughout the year. True story.

Wheaton vs Wartburg - 2-1 (1OT)
*Wartburg is good but their inconsistency  comes out in the first OT and they let one slip by
Loras vs Trinity - 2-0
*Too cold for Trinity
Loras vs Wheaton - 2-1
*Not allowed to dance in Wheaton so they can't dance to the Final Four. Loras breaks the program cycle of missing out on the Final Four after going their two years in a row.

Would like to see a Loras Wartburg clash in the Elite 8 though. Might make the drive up if that happened...

No need...Bennett Rank has a pretty good system in place.

Awesome! I can do the women's bracket too! Can't wait! I'm freaking pumped

I think it's interesting that a lot of people on these boards are picking Wartburg as a team that can make it to the Elite 8 or even the Final Four...

Is all this coming from a draw against Loras?

Wartburg enters the NCAA Tournament with 12-3-5 record ... Their signature win? A 2-1 win over GAC.

The Knights played two teams that made the tournament this year and came out with a 1-1-1 record.

And before anyone jumps on me, this is not a post coming from a sour Loras fan. I just don't know where everyone is coming from giving Wartburg a ton of credit.

My observation is obviously only from the game they played against Loras, though I only have them going to the Sweet 16. I would have to agree with NCAC that it is more of a compliment to Loras seeing that they controlled the game, didn't buckle under giving up the lead twice and could have put that game away in the second half if Roloff would not have made that save on the break away to push the ball to the post. Game would have been 3-1, nail in the coffin. That being said Loras is a NCAA tournament team who find ways to win and so is Trinity so Wartburg will eventually fall to them.

Champps Sports Bar is just East down Hwy 20, you will pass it on your left on your way to the hotel.  If you want something a little less sports bar and more pub there are some great places downtown on main st. The Busted Lift is a great Irish pub with ambiance or the Mason Dixon Line is also a good place a bit less "pubby".  There are close to 100 bars in the town if not over so....
Busted may have a cover charge if they have a band that night and knowing you both have some years on me you may want to stay out of Mason Dixon as it may be filled with a much younger crowd, which actual might be what you are looking for now that i think about it  ;D. First and Main is a pretty good new bar, across from Lot 1 but with more space than Lot 1 and a 23-35 aged crowed.

Don't know much about Westminster, but was surprised Dominican got in. If Loras advances I don't know who I'd like to see them play. Always enjoy a MIAC team but would like to see some redemption for the '09 loss to Dominican in the tourny.

Watched the Wartburg-Loras highlights agiain.
I must say the Wartburg keeper doesn't get enough credit.
I like his agreesion.

This is true, he did make the only save in the shoot out to get the win.

Loras 2-1
Wartburg 2-1

I watched the Loras/Wartburg game.
It was a great game with both teams having a chance to win in regulation.
Why does it seem to me that the the Duhawk faithful seem to make excuses why they lost as opposed to give Wartburg some credit for playing a great game. ??

As far as making excuses, well it's hard not to when you know a teams capabilities when running on all cylinders.

Going off both of these quotes I have to agree with Kickin as to why we make excuses for this team. But watching that game live with another person we noticed that Wartburg did not have one single chance in the first OT and maybe one in the beginning of the second OT, so it's hard to justify a lose when watching that.

It was one of the more entertaining games I have watched Loras play this year so yes credit to both teams for playing well.

Side-note, was talking with a friend who watched the game yesterday and commented that he hadn't seen a team complain to the ref more than Wartburg did that game and I didn't have a reason as to why that was. Until now. I remember the head coach getting talked to a few times and eventually getting a card. Half the time, and when he got the card, we didn't understand what he was complaining about. I'm hoping if we see them again or for years to come that this was a one time thing due to the game being so emotional, if not then it's going to start getting annoying to sit through games with Wartburg.

I take offense to that Cheesehead. I've been down on the Loras all season. I've voiced it a few time but usually I keep it to myself as the Internet is negative as is without my help.

But I would have to agree with Kickin that Loras is playing with what they have whether it's hard to watch or not it's getting results.

I think what Durantula is saying though holds some truth but it's more stating the obvious, don't let the other team player their game. Any team looks to do that. At half they have not been able to do that really but they did get one at the end of the first with a few poor clearances with 6 seconds left.

Should be a interesting end to this second half/game.

Bigger question is: who takes the shots for each team?

I don't know if a lot of Wartburg followers are on this board but it would be nice to hear some incite from them since this is an IIAC thread and not a Loras thread.

Loras 4-3 on penalties

If it were to go to penalties who would be in net for the Duhawks?

If my memory serves me well, which I'm guessing it does not, then Elvert came in a time or two for the shoot out in the past. But with the way the merry-go-round went in the beginning of the season what could Rothert be thinking?

Big game to win. And don't give me that line that Loras will probably be in the NCAA's with a loss like the commentator on Wednesday. Any game against Wartburg on home turf is a big game, especially when it comes down to getting some hardware.

I'm guessing Elvert comes in. Kids a stud for PK's.
