How about Hopkins spends a little of that endowment on painting  a football field end zone.  Watching football on a field painted for lacrosse is tough.

Lacrosse is the most important sport at JHU. They're not changing that.

Not unlike the LL D1 Hockey Schools (Union, RPI, SLU).

I'm not sure if Hobart's D1 lacrosse team gets the same love that the other LL D1 teams get though.

They do not

Well for one alum, I give Lax as much love as I can, we are finishing a permanent bubble ( 3.5 MM)that the Lax team will mostly benefit from for winter and early spring ....that sounds like love to me

I'm guessing the football team will see a lot of action and benefit from that bubble too.

Agreed. I gave a decent donation on behalf of FB (Coach Cragg hit me up) for the bubble, which honestly, is just keeping up with the Joneses these days as far as facilities go. You can see Utica's in their home FB game feeds, so it makes sense Hobart would finally get one also.

Looks like ticket sales are out to a strong start for CORTACA jug at MetLife Stadium. 20,000 sold already. I'm prepared to eat crow for questioning how many tickets would be sold for this, given the distance from the schools and other factors.

Actually 30,0010.  That figure didn't include the 5k per school has for students (who have to sit in the endzone I guess).

Don't count your tickets before they are sold. Those are allotted to the schools, but not sold yet, but yes I saw that in the plan. With 6k students, will each school really use 5k tickets? That's going to be a LOT of buses. With normal total attendance of 10k on campus, that seems like a bit of a stretch.

Now I am curious what % of the student bodies from St Thomas and St John's attended the Target Field game, which was just across town. It was certainly nowhere near 80%.

Yea not sure how he logistics work on that one but I assumed the schools are going to use those tickets no matter what.  I also assume students will be driving and staying in the city for the night as well.

There are so many alums near NYC too that will be happy to only drive a little bit vs. go Upstate for this one. Should be a great crowd, as even rival school alums (e.g., Hobart which has a TON of NYC area alums) may show up to see this one too.

Yeah, there could just be people who want to go for the sake of it. My brother has some of his co-workers (who have zero connection to IC) coming to the game to tailgate and hang.

20,000 tickets sold this early is pretty impressive. Great to see the enthusiasm is there

One correction: Those are not just student tickets. They are student, faculty, and staff tickets.
