Using the term "elite" is like saying "AAU" or "team" sports.

Term just thrown around to make it look and sound cool.

As iwumichigander referenced—a term used by various schools and recruiting services to make parents feel like the big bucks they shell out is worth it, and to make the kids they represent feel like they're better than kids handled by other services. 🤑

Even "travel ball", unfortunately, has a sleaze element.  AAU, definitely, when it comes to the upper grades of HS.  I know there is a large circuit of out-of-season girls volleyball play, but am not aware what that entails.

BTW, NPU will offer varsity mens volleyball in fall 2019.

Men's Volleyball is incredibly fun to watch and with each new program, it makes it that much easier for other institutions to consider the sport.  Thanks North Park.

Totally off-topic....but does WUPHF come from "The Office"?

Well, it seems that unlike our esteemed President, not everyone has lost his mind to the Twitter craze.  :o

Undoubtedly, Gotberg.  :)
But it wouldn't be a shock to see SS return to the CCIW at some point down the road. 🛣 🙂

IWU will face the Fighting Illini on Friday November 2 in Champaign...

Surprising considering they saw just how wrong this can go last season. Last thing any team needs is an injury to a top player in an exhibition game (i.e. Pierson Wofford).

Are the odds of injury greater playing the University of Illinois than they are vs Olivet Nazarene?

Assuming players are going to want to go at U of I a little harder than they would against Olivet.
