Another tough day for the North Central men. They dropped a 9-0 decision to Augustana.
In their second match of the day, the Cards lost again, 1-8 against Cornell (Iowa).
The Cards return to action, Thursday, when they host Wheaton.

Hey, newcardfan,

Instead of making 3 posts within about 4 minutes (and by replying 2 x's to your own post), why don't you just put everything into 1 post?  It's a great way to pad your posting stats, but what you're doing seems to be a rather corny way of posting, IMHO. Just out of curiosity, what's prompting you to do this on multiple message boards?   ::)

I'm sure there must be others wondering the same thing.   ;)
I'VE REACHED THAT AGE

SHOULDN'T SAY THAT," TO

There are so many posts floating around that are so much more corny than mine, so enjoy reading them, if you like corn. ;D ;D ;D Have a great day!

Longtime Linfield College women's tennis coach and NCAA Compliance Officer Amy Dames Smith has announced her resignation after 10 highly successful years.

Dames Smith, the longest tenured and most successful women's tennis coach in Linfield history, is stepping down to accept a new role as Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance and Academics at Concordia University of Portland.

Dames Smith guided the Wildcats to six Northwest Conference championships in the span of 10 seasons, including five straight crowns from 2004 until 2008. Three of her squads advanced to the NCAA regional playoffs, reaching the second round twice.

During her first five seasons, Linfield did not drop a single NWC contest, part of a record 108 conference match win streak. She departs with an overall win-loss record of 159-54, including a staggering in-conference record of 143-9.

Reviving this thread---

Congratulations to the 2021 Brandeis Judges men's tennis team on being selected on a Pool C bid to compete in the 2021 NCAA DIII Men's Tennis Championship!

First time in 32 years-- First Brandeis Men's Tennis team not captained by Noel Occomy to qualify.

Last appearance in the tennis championships for Brandeis men's tennis was in 1989.  The captain of the 1989 team was Noel Occomy, the 1988 NCAA DIII men's singles tennis champion.  Noel Occomy was inducted in 1995 into the Brandeis Athletics Hall of Fame.

Brandeis will open in the second round at Berry College this Saturday, May 15, against the winner of the Grove City vs Roger Williams tennis match.

Of note-- this year, 5 UAA teams were picked for the men's tennis championship by either a Pool B or Pool C pick, which accounts for 5 of the 6 at large picks.

The UAA swept the Pool B picks, with defending national champion Emory, Case Western Reserve University, and Wash U getting picked on Pool B bids.

Brandeis, Carnegie Mellon, and Southwestern (TX) got in on Pool C bids.

There are 31 AQs this year for men's tennis.

On the women's side, in the women's team bracket, 3 NESCAC teams (Wesleyan-CT, Tufts and Williams) get in, Emory and Wash U get Pool B selections and Denison (NCAC) and Sewanee (SAA) get in as Pool C selections.

Have yet to find a "D3 Women's Tennis Team's longest draught between D3 NCAA Tournament Appearances, but what I did find in a different related area was quite interesting.

On the women's side, Williams, out of the NESCAC, has taken 8 NCAA Team Titles between 2008 and 2019. On the men's side, generally, the NESCAC has still taken its' share of titles, but that share, (5) was divided--Amherst with 2, Williams, Bowdoin and Middlebury with 1 each. Emory has taken 2 of the last 3 men's team tennis titles.

On paper underdogs to watch:

Men's Tennis:  Denison, which is making its' first tournament appearance in 6 years. (Opponent:  Gustavus Adolpus, which has won 11 straight MIAC titles.

Women's Tennis:  CCIW Tournament winner North Central-IL debuting in the tournament after 43 years in existence. (Opponent: Skidmore, 10 straight Liberty League titles.
