Linfield is bringing in 4 kickers and a long snapper.  Should have a chance to compete early for Punting and kicking duties. Sounds silly to be happy about bringing in a specialist long snapper but having a good, consistent snapper is one less thing to worry about.

Speaking of Sam Riddle, there was a great Photo of him and Teidrick Smith at UMHB. Teidrick signed a free agent contract with the Rams. http://cruathletics.com/news/2017/5/15/football-teidrick-smith-signs-free-agent-contract-with-los-angeles-rams.aspx

Awesome for Teidrick.  No doubt he can stick up there.

....'Cats will be adding 4 more players to move this year's total to 54 (so far and counting).  Those additions should be posted up tomorrow on social media.

Talking in a echo chamber but Linfield keeps adding to an already fantastic class.  Nearly 60 new 'Cats will report next fall.

Not an echo chamber 11...I'm sure we're all ears out here!
If I had anything worthy to say, well...?
You have reminded me to spend some more time with Hudl.
It will be good duty in between yard work, camping and/or flipping burgers.
Let's all remember our fallen that paid dearly for our precious country!
It's way more than just an extra day off.

Good to know.  Picked up two more talented receivers over the past week and a verbal on a possible difference maker on the defensive line.  Linfield's staff has been crushing it this off season.

Huge recruiting class

I had no clue that having an incoming class that is 38% student athletes was possible.

D O.C.

That's more reasonable than the 75% student-athletes I tried to pass off a couple weeks ago.

Weather is heating up. Less than 3 months until 1st game! And it's in my backyard at Chapman.
Somebody is going to have to cover the next week in Mac with UMHB for me.  I can't make it.

HansenRatings

Decided I'm going to spam every conference board with my preseason (non-returning-starter-adjusted) projections.

Team   Rating   Overall   Conference
Linfield      0.9936   8.1-0.9   6.8-0.2
Whitworth   0.8721   7.0-3.0   4.8-2.2
PLU      0.8133   4.8-3.2   4.2-2.8
GFU      0.7197   4.6-5.4   3.6-3.4
Pacific      0.7080   4.4-4.6   3.5-3.5
Willamette   0.6249   4.0-5.0   2.8-4.2
UPS      0.4389   3.0-6.0   1.9-5.1
L&C      0.1180   0.5-8.5   0.3-6.7

Last year, Linfield had the highest odds of earning their conference's Pool A bid in the country. Doesn't appear to be changing any time soon. My model has never been very bullish on Whitworth--too many close calls.

The ratio may have been significantly higher back In the1970s when Linfield was in deep financial do-do. At the time, if not forever after, it was widely assumed that the recruiting efforts of Ad (and Joan) Rutschman (and others) kept the school's nose above water (or, at worst, only slightly submerged). In those days a NWC program having 125-140 football players show up for the first day practice was unusual. All current Wildcat football fans need to remember the heroic work of Ad and Joan. Others certainly contributed, but Ad and Joan likely spent the most time on the road.

Thank you Joan and Ad,
A grateful (old) Wildcat
