NACC Standings as of 3/16

1. Wisconsin Lutheran 7-2
2. Aurora 9-3
3. Rockford 6-4
4. Concordia Chicago 6-6

Well two teams that were picked to finish near the bottom of the league are on top after spring break. More underwhelmed at the multitude of teams struggling out of the gate.

CUC and Aurora couldn't play game 2 of their DH, so that's going to be rescheduled. With no one holding a stellar overall record it looks likely the NACC is a one-bid league this year. CUC, MU and BU seem like locks for the NACC Tournament. The next six are all in the race for the other three spots. And how about Zack Creekmore of Edgewood? Leading the NACC in batting average, slugging and on-base percentage. Have a season!

After losing their opener at the Midwest Regional, Concordia Chicago has now won 3 consecutive games to stay alive.

Earlier today, they scored 5 runs after being down to their final out to eliminate the defending national champions UW-Whitewater!

But they did not have enough magic for one last game as they fall to UW-La Crosse 10-3. CUC ends the season 33-15.

Adam Smith leaves Concordia Chicago to take over at Benedictine. Should make for an interesting DH next spring.

CUC wastes no time in promoting Mike Stawski to head coach.

This is a HUGE step forward for Benedictine to be able to woo Smith away from Concordia-Chicago. They get a proven coach who is local and will make an immediate impact at that university.

I am shocked at how Lakeland continues to spiral downward. After making a run to the World Series and drawing a line in the sand on a great coach (who walked away as a result), they have had a series of disastrous hires and seasons to follow. Sad to see how far they have fallen.
