Monday morning lesson for you married guys from this old one:
Forget every one of your mistakes. There is no point in two of you remembering them.  :)
+1!  (... and as I type this, your smite total is -666!   :o  )

One of the books that I have in my library is Why Men Never Remember and Women Never Forget

Don't worry 57. Your ol' UST buddy saved you from the devil's grasp.

He’s Merle, and I for one am thankful for his participation on the boards.

Would you think so if he were a UWW poster?

Why wouldn’t I? Does anybody doubt his loyalty to Mt? I think he’s the Mt version of the super fans “Da Bears”.  He’s frustrated me many times, but he’s also made me laugh out loud just as often.

In the specific battle with Frank, I honestly think he was pretty well behaved. IMO he didn’t act like a bully in any way toward Frank. I’ve never thought of him as a bully. An instigator yes, not a bully.
Frank was far from gentlemanly in this debate and he was flat out wrong for claiming Merle was bullying him.

this makes my skin crawl... are we friends now?

I hate that I've had to resist the desire to give you +k so many times the last few days. Never would I have imagined that our ol' pal merle would become a somewhat sympathetic figure on here.

Warhawks and Tommies on my side...this is disgusting.  Aren't there any fans of real championship contenders that want to be on my side?

I tried to be nice, but then you go and stab a pal in the back. I guess I'll stick to trolling my buddy Frank, because apparently challenging his (silly) assertions is trolling.

This board has put Johnnie/Tommie week to shame.  Classic.

Don't you mean Tommie/Johnnie week? If the Johnnies ever win one again I will happily list them first.

Would love to read your tweets on the matter, Mr Rossi, but I believe you blocked me a while back during one of your grand displays of integrity.

Neither of you are exactly covering yourselves in glory with this pontificating.

Hear what Luke has to say at the 57 min mark of our off-season "halftime show" special:

Still no regular audio version? Would love to listen on my drive to/from work but not going to do that with Facebook video.

I saw on the tweeters that some of the UST football players were participating in a pro day. Anyone have a list of MIAC guys that were participating in pro day or might get a sniff at a practice squad/roster spot in the NFL?

St. Johns or St. Thomas play UW-Whitewater, UW-Lacrosse, UW-Oshkosh, or UW-Platteville. Amazing those four WIAC schools have not been on either team's schedule this century.

St Thomas played UW-Lacrosse in 2013 and 2014. Those were down years for the Lacrosse program though. I'd love to see the Tommies take on any of those teams again.

A fun little breakdown of statistical leaders across NCAA divisions to keep our football minds rolling in the offseason. No surprise that UST defense features prominently.

Calvin Alumni rear window sticker on a car driving through downtown St Paul. Also had MSU and some other stickers indicative of a native Michigander.

On scheduling...for Mount, UWWW, UMHB, UWO and a few others....SOS is out the window. It's more about who has an opening on the same Saturday and (most importantly IMHO) - who says "sure, we'll sign on for the stomping". No offense but even in D3 coaches want/need to win. I suspect many would ask themselves "what is our team going to get out of a 63-0, 18 punt, 6 TO, other guys 3rds in by halftime, type of a game - that we have to repeat the following year?".

My .02 cents.

I think your two cents are valid....

It's the unfortunate truth of DIII Football. Unlike in DI where the Power 5 teams can offer any average program a boatload of money to take a beating, AD's at this level have to do whatever they can to get their team 10 games.

Unless you are St John's, which can offer a D3-sized boat of money, apparently.

He'd look really good barnstorming the country with Thomas More in 2018 for their 7 road games.  Perhaps a potential move to D2 would entice him??

The Saints need a QB but return loads of talent everywhere else.

And they play AT Saint Johns and AT Huntington while they have home games against UW-Platteville and Muhlenberg.

I'm just day-dreaming here... give me a moment.
I'm already tempted to put that Thomas More vs SJU game on my schedule and make the trek up to Clemens. That would just about seal the deal for me if both teams were competitive to that point.

Ease up fellas. I wasn't around here at the time, but I'm sure in 2013 our very gracious Johnnie friends on this board were quick to point out that St Thomas only lost by 2 points and did not at all bring up the wide left FG.

What's premium about 1 watching a game where the Johnnies run for 1 yard?   ;D ;D ;D ;D

I think premium is a reference the St Thomas run defense. Tons of Johnnies were excited to pay extra last year to watch that.
