Trinity has another wagon.
Looks like all conference WR Viera is not returning but they are still loaded and will again be the prohibitive favorite to win the conference.

Lumbercat,

I just saw a picture of the new turf at Bowdoin which already has the logo painted at midfield.  It is facing toward the North or new grandstand and away from Hubbard Grandstand, suggesting that Bowdoin is changing sidelines after so many years.

They are changing sidelines.   Vistors will be in Hubbard.

Polbear 73-

I guess nothing is forever- It evidently makes sense for some reason in the planning of the new facility to make the change.

I stopped by Whittier last week for an in person preview.
It's going to be absolutely beautiful.

They have a lot more work to do in the next 30 days. Still no lights or south side stands and no sign of new press box but I'm sure they will get it all done.

Looks like they might be paving the tail gate area behind the end zone.

The track is being widened so the stands move back a bit though I am sure they will elevate the lower rows so all can see over the playersbench  area on the sidelines thus avoiding the Colby syndrome.

Without a doubt it's going be a great NESCAC venue for the Polar Bears and their visitors.

Thank you for the eye witness report, Lumbercat. Perhaps the new venue will usher in a new era of Bowdoin football.

Didn't love the comment on there calling NESCAC D4, but I don't have any way to know whether they are right or wrong.

Browsing the Nescac today.....love the upgrades to the facilities around the CAC, especially the science buildings.
Surprised to see that it is " Moving in Day" for the class of '21 at Hamilton College TODAY!
Guess it is up to the Athletic Dept. to keep the FYs varsity candidates out of the "gym".
Not so concerned wrt the FYs.....busy on trips, etc. until thw 23rd of August.  However, Hamilton starts the academic year about a week earlier than most of the other CAC schools.

2017 Trinity  season preview:

Are you going to change your posting handle? :)

Yes, indeed, it should be changed to Trin9-0, right?

Haha, well I did think about it but since we were 8-0 when I played I'm a little nostalgic for the moniker. I plan to keep it for now and maybe reevaluate if/when the Bantams have a 9-0 season.

Featured player in the photo accomplying the write-up has a name that reminded me of a great Amherst RB in my era...a long time ago.   Would not surprise me that the Trinity Sr player is related to the one I remembered....a grandson maybe? :)
The article noted the Trinity win over Amherst locked up the CAC title last season.  That 24-14 win was in Hartford and accomplished by TWO great Bantam defensive efforts in the 4th quarter.  The last one was an interception for a long run back TD.  Amherst had led at halftime.  The big win by Trinity over Wes was also a comeback led by the Bantam defense.
It should be an interesting season for Trinity with a rebuilt defensive side.

Ethan Suraci is actually from my hometown. I know his father played at Marist but not sure if/where his grandfather played college football. It wouldn't surprise me if it were Amherst though. His younger brother, Conner will be a sophomore for Bates this season. The Trin-Amherst game in Hartford last year was indeed a wild one. The margin of difference between the two squads has been razon thin the past several seasons. I would have to assume the Bantams and Mammoths (that's going to take some getting used to) will be the favorites but Midd, Tufts, Wes have been knocking on the door for a while and could be ready to make a run at the title this season.

Trin8-0.....not too surprising wrt Noontime.  Hardworking sports follower trying to make a living in a business field with so much info.  WSJ had an article on a professional baseball team that to date is winning contrary to the " statistical models" indications.  Noontime lost my interest with his earlier posting of players to watch this season in the CAC.  Overlooked the availability of Amherst QB Foy this season and cited another QB.
In any case, imo, Amherst HC will prefer to stay out of the limelight this season...especially early in the season.

Tufts has made great strides in recent years. But, I believe the graduation of Chance Brady is going to be very big. He was a beast. Any thoughts?
