Just a thought Cru folks, but why dont we sing Up with the Purple on Senior day (and/or at the last home game of the season) as a moment of connection between Seniors and Alumns? I think that would be a very cool moment

My senior year, 2012, most seniors didn't know the words or that the song even existed. I'm not sure how often it gets sung but senior day does seem like a good time to do it.

After going way to deep into SOS and in game stats for UMHB and hsu, I don't buy the hype hsu is receiving. Maybe they prove me wrong, maybe they prove me right. I guess that's why the game is played! LOL

49-23 CRU

QB Tobyn Tannehill, the youngest brother of Miami Dolphins QB Ryan Tannehill, tweeted last night that he has committed to play football at UMHB.

Maxpreps.com lists him as a 6'2" 180lbs duel threat QB

He leaves Big Spring as their all time leader in total yards. A three year starter he passed for 6060 yards (173 yards per game) and rushed for another 3830 yards (109 yards per game).

With the news of Boles last week and Tannehill this week, it is looking like the QB position will be a fun battle to watch the next few years.

Former Mary Hardin-Baylor Offensive Line Standout Nate Menkin posted this photo to his Facebook Tuesday morning.

I have not found any details on if its practice squad or main roster yet but it looks like he is at least getting his foot back in the door of the NFL.

Looks like the real national championship was played last week in Belton. UMHB should be ranked #2 in the final poll.   ;D
certainly makes me think UMHB missed a golden opportunity

I agree, but Toby said it (+k) , UMHB missed the opportunity. Next year will be a new story and, hopefully, a trip to Salem.

Looks like we will finish number 2 in the final poll again. After seeing this score last weeks game hurts that much more.

Gotta let the players try and win the game. The field goal was not the right call. Especially after using a time out.

UMHB wants it to be a "Purple Out" but I have a feeling its goin to be more of a "Camo Out" to stay warm. I know I'm going to be rockin quite a few layers of my huntin gear.
Do you mean that you take your hunting gear to a football game?   :o

"Hey Toby!  He wears his hunting gear to a football game!"

It might make it harder to count the number of fans in attendance.

Absolutely! I did when we played Redlands too! hoodies just don't cut it in this type of weather. I'm sure they'll be plenty of purple with the seats and all. I hope for a better turn out that what is anticipated.
If Blue Bell can come up with a purple CRUthedral vanilla ice cream, then maybe Cabela's can come out with a Purple Camo outfit for the really cold UMHB Playoff games in December.   ;)

Shoot! I'd be on that! We'd be lookin like a bunch of colorblind rednecks though! haha

I do believe i'd go broke if they had "Cru Camo"

We're not taking them seriously, we just don't tend to let anyone have anything when it comes to football.  ;D. It would not be Texan of us to let it go.

If you want North Texas, Allen High School in the Dallas area has a stadium that would be more than sufficiant... holds 18,000

UMHB was given an untimed down at the end of the 3rd qtr after a penalty on the Cru. Am I wrong in thinking untimed downs only come after defensive penalties?

I would tend to lean on Rowan came out swinging more than UMHB started sluggish... After only about 3 or 4 game minuets The Cru took control and have not looked back. Rowan knew they needed a strong start to have a chance. But it didn't last.
