I would tend to lean on Rowan came out swinging more than UMHB started sluggish... After only about 3 or 4 game minuets The Cru took control and have not looked back. Rowan knew they needed a strong start to have a chance. But it didn't last.

UMHB was given an untimed down at the end of the 3rd qtr after a penalty on the Cru. Am I wrong in thinking untimed downs only come after defensive penalties?

I think that SJF has been the strength in the East this season.  (They had mid-season road losses to Salisbury, whom I still think of a South Region team on loan to the East, and Ithaca.)

UMHB 59, Rowan 8.  If we were playing 6-man rules, we could call the game.

Textbook UMHB stomping. Beast from the East was a little angry towards the end of the game. Safe travels to Rowan and their fans. And the train keeps rolling.

Great game today for the Cru. Came out a little slow, but when you play a team like Rowan who has talented people and a chip, it's expected. They should have come out ready to fight, and they did, so my hat is off to them, but The Cru did what they do and put things back in order very quickly. Rowan had just over 100 yards at the half and 50 of that came on the opening drive.

Can't understand the coach getting all chippy with us at the end. It's not like our #1's were out there still. Our backups need to run the offense.

Oh well, great day. Great game. I'll be listening on my phone next week, so to those who will be there, be loud for me!

Oh hey guys!  I took a wrong turn while heading for the east region boards.  I zigged when I should have zagged. 

Now that I'm here and all...just what is the strength of UMHB offensively and defensively?  I believe I read they have a strong rushing attack.  Does that mean your passing game is only serviceable?  Or would it also be prominent but it just hasn't been needed? 

On defense are you exceptional at pressuring the opposing quarterback?  Great coverage unit?  Just trying to figure out what makes your team so dominant.

Welcome to the ASC board, Bobby!

Congratulations on the very strong season.  You are the now Beast in the East.  Two road losses (Ithaca and Salisbury) are nothing to be ashamed of.

Good to be here!  From what I observed last week, looks like a gracious group of posters.  They were very welcoming on the NJAC board. 

Fisher has been spotty at times this year, mainly undisciplined personal fouls and occasionally they contract a case of the fumbles.  But when they get going they can be a very fun team to watch.  The offense has been noticeably slow to start the past few games.  It takes them a few series to get going.  Luckily the defense has been playing at their highest level of the season these past few weeks.  They've even forced 18 turnovers in the past 4 games. 

I have no idea what to expect from UMHB but I do know Fisher.  If they have a poor outing like we did in the Ithaca game (sloppy play and turned it over 5 times in the loss) then we'll probably get monkey stomped at the very least.  Can't do that against a top 3 team.  But if our offense plays the way they are capable of (refer to the box score of the Washington and Jefferson game for the best example - specifically the yardage) and the defense keeps this hot steak alive - then it could be a much more interesting game.  At least one would hope.

UMHB is a run first team but not afraid to throw. If the running is driving the train, we won't stop. We have a punishing runner in Elijah Hudson and speed in Michael Carpenter. Our Sophmore QB has grown as a thrower but loves to run. Last week he ran for 100 and scored a TD. This week he threw and ran for over 100 and threw 3 TDs. Our D is tops against the run. Our secondary does a good job against the pass and can lay the wood. But, they give up plays at times.

Should be a fun game. Will you make it?

Love seeing Fisher face new competition, looking forward to this weeks discussions!!!

Here's the lowdown on Fisher. They run a 3-3-5 on defense and love to give exotic looks in both the run and pass game. They have two good sized LBers that can make plays, a really athletic DE that can play the run and the pass very well! Their secondary is entirely brand new from last year and has really come into it's own the last half of the year. Their FS is a ball hawk and they have a heavy hitter at SS. The 6'2" and 220lb SS runs a sub 4.5 and plays all over the field. On offense they have a decent sized OL that loves to run the zone blocking schemes. Their QB can put the ball anywhere on the field and they have a tough RB that can break tackles after contact. They have a speedster at one WR and a possession WR that excels at jump balls and back shoulder routes.

They love to be aggressive on both sides of the ball. I would love to hear more about UMHB!!!

I think the biggest difference you will notice is in team speed.  UMHB can hurt you and score in so many different ways because of their speed.  Backs like those from Rowan get frustrated as they try to break it outside as they were successful doing earlier in the season only to be met at the line by linebackers and db's.  Offensively, multiple positions have breakaway speed.    Special teams (except KO coverage for some reason)  are potent as well.

The next thing you will notice is the effectiveness, physicality and intensity of our offensive and defensive lines.  They will beat you up.  Ask Redlands!

That being said, you guys have played the toughest schedule of those I have seen in the bracket from the north and east.  That will help you but I still am not sure you are ready for what you will see.
