Social media so hard to tell. There was nothing to indicate it was  ;D. Add this to the “never heard of them” quip and you tell me.

As an Italian, I can vouch for the dry sarcastic wit that Mike and the Mangone family most likely exhibit.  Take nothing personally.  He added the photo of the beautiful stadium to show his sarcasm a bit better.  Excited to see it in person tomorrow morning!

Great photos of Wildcat Stadium  ... Fond memories of a beatdown, Waco Richfield High School 47, Temple 28. Future Baylor RB and our tailback Marcus Rogers gained 270 yards and score 4 TD's.

when i was in high school someone shot out our bus window as we pulled out of the stadium. Killeen had just beaten Temple. lovely fan base

Having grown up and attending school in Temple and graduating from Temple High I won't deny we had our fair share of punks... that said I can say the same for Killeen and Waco schools too.

Sorry that happened to y'all.

It was great growing up watching Temple, Killeen schools, and Waco battle. Those schools fell off for years after I left in the late 90's.

Temple is back on the scene as a powerhouse (6A bump next year might have some growing pains), and I think Killeen football is still suffering from all of the new HS built since then.

My two close friends till this day were suite mates at McMurry and one was a Killeen Eagle, the other a Kangaroo. lol
No doubt we all had our share of knuckleheads. I grew up in downtown Killeen and there was 🔥🔥🔥 between killeen and temple back then. looks like realignment this year might bring some old competitors back together.
My wife and I are Alumni of both UMHB and HSU.  You think you are confused, my kids don't know which Purple and Gold team to pull for.

Just a thought Cru folks, but why dont we sing Up with the Purple on Senior day (and/or at the last home game of the season) as a moment of connection between Seniors and Alumns? I think that would be a very cool moment

My senior year, 2012, most seniors didn't know the words or that the song even existed. I'm not sure how often it gets sung but senior day does seem like a good time to do it.

(Former Temple HS Head Coach) Bob McQueen was my coach at Mexia. I have never met a finer man, a better coach, and a more inspirational individual than he.

Yessir! Coach McQueen is a legend!

Some interesting tidbits.. across the way on Bawcom - there are the Golden ticket porches that winners of golden tickets (Special events) can watch from - Last season I got to watch the HSU game from Bawcom, sat in the big comfy chairs, behind the glass and listened to the game on my phone, it was great.

Let’s just get the current students to know the words to the school song again... I’d be happy with that! It’s pathetic. They ought to make freshman sing it every 5 minutes all welcome week again.

Ok I’ll quit ranting like an old man now.
We are SO good at this game!

FWIW 5dimes has the following lines on the two semifinal games:

UMU -7.5 with the O/U at 65.5
UMHB -15 with the O/U at 43.5
