Hello Everybody!

We just want to get some information out to everyone here. It will not apply to all, but still might be someone you know it could affect.
We are a college summer fastpitch softball league in the Chicago area. We will operate as a 23U so those just beyond their playing career can still participate.  Please check out our site for more info.
Feel free to contact us with any questions!

Little East Poll: http://littleeast.com/sports/sball/2013-14/releases/201402130jbc2h

Surprised Western is on top of that last.  Eastern Connecticut has been the top dog in the conference for quite some time, so I still say they should be on the throne until someone knocks them off.  I know Eastern lost a couple people from last years team, but Western was an about average team finishing at 25-24 overall and 8-6 in the conference, though they did win 25 of their final 38 games.  We'll see how good they can be as they play nationally ranked Rowan & Christopher Newport on Saturday in Virginia.

Linfield swept Lewis & Clark last weekend 4-0.  Outscored L&C 37-0 and only allowed 4 hits.

Western Connecticut went 1-3 down in Virginia: split with Rowan (lost 3-1 and won 3-2) and lost single games to Christopher Newport (8-5) and Virginia Wesleyan (7-1).  Off until this coming Saturday, when they go down to Florida for the spring break trip; they'll take on Western New England & Oswego state the first day.

Some brutal conditions. Saw part of a CCIW game yesterday between North Central and Illinois Wesleyan during which the actual temp was 38, but the wind chill took things down to 27! Burrrrrrrrrrr.
Fall weather much more baseball/softball like.  ;)

CAC Tournament Final:

Chris. Newport 3, Salisbury 2 (8 innings)  Lady Captains get the AQ:  Salisbury (33-3) still has a shot at an at-large berth.

Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Update:

Aurora, Benedictine, WLC, Dominican and CUW have all clinched conference tournament berths. MSOE, Marian and Edgewood are all still in contention for the last spot.

(After yesterday's action concluded, MSOE ended up getting the final spot. For the first time, 2 Milwaukee schools get in.)

WLCALUM83

Benedictine takes the NACC AQ;  Aurora may still get in, as at at large.

WLCALUM83

UT-Tyler gets the ASC AQ -- beating ETBU in extra innings in the final. ETBU's got a good shot at an at large bid.

Bracket Observations:

Redlands, CMS and Linfield squads remain out west for that regional. Only one of those squads would need to travel south for the Super Regionals. (In previous years 2 out West squads ended up traveling to Texas for the first round)

NACC squad Aurora didn't get in. Benedictine's in the U of Chicago regional.

Agnes Scott (23-20) and Keene State (19-17) are teams with most losses that get in. Agnes Scott gets the tougher opener--Emory.

Read all year how select committee would try to avoid conferences foes playing in same regional.  Also they said they would attempt to have the higher ranked teams NOT knock themselves out prior to World Series; attempt to have the best 8 make it to World Series.

Well they failed.  Piss pour job of grouping teams in regionals.
