That would make sense because I was told that with the number of teams that now have or have added softball next years field will be expanded to 63 teams and the anticipation was for their to be 64 by 2015. So maybe they're moving a yea ahead of schedule. A super regional format would be interestig though...

These are the new full members that I have found for 2012-13.

Penn State-Abington  (NEAC)
SUNY-Cobleskill           (NEAC)
Spaulding                   (SLIAC)

All of these schools play softball.  Were they included in the total number of teams last year to determine number of teams in playoffs?  Just wondering

You can add Emory.  If I remember correctly last time this event was held it was 24 teams.
