I've listened to most of the game so far.  As expected, almost all of Wheaton's points are on uncontested layups.  The Thunder have definitely turned it over a bunch - interested to hear the halftime total.  I'd guess it's about 15 already.

Wheaton could be in some trouble here up just 2 at the break.  When you play Grinnell, you really like to have a nice halftime cushion - 2nd half fatigue is a very real concern.  Bill Harris has added about 4 players to the rotation for this game it sounds like, but still, Wheaton's players will be gassed coming down the stretch.  I think the first 7-8 minutes of the 2nd half will be key - the Thunder need to build up a lead.

IWU played Puget Sound twice in 2005-06.  UPS did not run the exact "System", but their full court trapping, gambling defense was extremely similar.  In the Elite Eight game (at Lawrence) IWU was barely able to finish the game off...the tank was on E with about 5:00 to play.  It was amazing how tired IWU's players were.

1st Half:

Wheaton turnovers: 16

Wheaton leading scorers: Raymond 16, McCrary 14

Wheaton leads 75-62 a couple minutes into the Second half. Wheaton has taken advantage of having Carwell and McCrary back in after foul trouble early.

Looks like it's now Wheaton 81, Grinnell 65.

Wheaton appears to be pulling away, but a 16-point lead is not necessarily safe against the Circus.

Wheaton by 22 with under 12 to go.

Gotta give a lot of credit to Raymond, Panner and Jahns for playing excellent defense on Grotberg (2-9 shooting first half) and Long.
