OCguy brings up a good point, how does Chapman not win year in and out with those facilities?
How does a team like Claremont win (ever) with those facilities?

Their facilities are in the classroom.

How long have you guys been involved in D3 football and SCIAC? Over half the SCIAC schools are very difficult to get into...On par with UC system or more.
Throw in how tough it is for a middle class white male to get significant aid since they have variable enrollment standards. The pool of quality players that qualify or can afford to play is limited, facilities are not a major reason for anyone's decision to go play at a SCIAC school. Facilities would be fourth or fifth reason a player goes to any SCIAC school. It is always a balance between a good school and not graduating in major debt. My thoughts are not original  just passing along comments made by many coaches at different schools I have known over the years.

I would agree with facilities being further down on the list. Granted my son is only a punter, which is not typically a highly recruited position that is given the opportunity to differentiate between schools for any reason (including facilities), but he chose Claremont based on the staff's interest in him and more importantly the chance to attend a great academic school. Even with their Roberts Pavilion, which is nice for a small school, his choice was definitely not influenced by facilities, albeit good or bad. Not that he was good enough to punt at the D1 level, but having been invited to camps at Stanford and Oklahoma State, he saw what nice facilities were really like. Such a factor was deifinitely down on his list of priorities.

Congrats, your family made a great choice on Claremont...five years from graduation Staggs/Pomona alumni average income is a leagues best.

This time of year is brutal for D3 fans.  Where can we find any recruiting info?  We have to wait until rosters are up?

I can tell you UR made a push for QBs and O line....Maynard loves to recruit stud RB then convert them to position players.

Until your information is available, 10Freeway, you can go to the MIAC board for amusement.

Best info we grab for UMHB recruiting is Twitter, alot of our commits want to post they are committing to the Cru, do searches with your program in mind. What I did was search, find the twitter url and post it on the boards so others can see it. Then we get their Hudl footage from their High School seasons and post it online so the fans can see what is coming in.

Then we all tweet welcomes to the player and his family, you'd be surprised when fans and alumns write to them welcoming them to the program.

You can check it out on the South boards and get an idea

Here is a U of Redlands commit

I don't like to focus on one player too much for a lot of reasons, but when I heard this guy was coming to UR I was pleased. He could have easily been a pref. walk on at a D1 school. If we could get 5 or 6 like him a year, we would be in good shape. Ton of upside, very athletic.

Yeah tis true, we post the commits, but there is alot that can happen between now and the 2019 season, some do not make the enrollment, some do not make the roster or some just hit the JV roster and will not see the varsity field for maybe 2 years and in that time not want to participate. We had that happen few times, one of our QB's (Kyle Jones) in his junior year (we lost stagg) the next season transferred to Texas Tech - The Tevin Jones issue once training camp started he had a mental break. I think he'll be back (I hope) in 2019 - or we had a very highly sought after young QB who never made it to any university due to injury.

SO this is all speculation but it is something to do in the down time, that is the way I take it.
