SUNY Cortland's Carrel Joseph will play for the Republic of Haiti during the 2021 FIBA World Cup Qualifiers Americas Cup. Joseph was chosen to be a part of the 12-man roster for Haiti as they compete in the 2021 FIBA AmeriCup Caribbean Pre Qualifier. For the past several weeks, Joseph has been training in Miami for the chance to represent his country. A native of Haiti, Joseph recently graduated from SUNY Cortland.

"Being able to represent my country is an honor and a life long dream coming true," Joseph said. "I am looking forward to the experience."
The FIBA AmeriCup 2021 Caribbean Pre- Qualifier will qualify two teams for the FIBA AmeriCup 2021 Qualifiers beginning in September. The two qualified Caribbean teams will join the South American and Central American Pre- Qualifier Champions along with the four-eliminated Round One - FIBA Basketball World Cup Qualifier Americas teams.

The Preliminary Phase for the FIBA AmeriCup 2021 Caribbean Pre- Qualifier begins on June 24 and concludes on June 28.

         RDragons within 7-4 after scoring four in the eighth. Awakens Laker attack which goes on seven run ninth inning rampage. Oswego already 7-0 leader through seven innings -- bolstered by five-run, seven-hit fourth ignited by M. Dellicarri, J. Barnes doubles. L. Olsson lends two-rbi single to left. Evening rain halts conference tourney play in Cortland where Oswego with 4-0 lead over New Paltz in the sixth inning of losers bracket game.  Will resume Saturday at 10 a.m. Survivor faces Cortland in championship round.

Cortland ekes out 2-1 win over Oswego on C. BeVard's two-out home run to right in the 11th inning of conference tourney winners bracket game.
     RDragons tally first run in the bottom of the seventh after P. Schetter, M. Personius singles put runners on first and third with no outs. Schetter scores as Lakers turn doubleplay. Oswego with equalizer in the eighth on B. Nicholson two-out base hit to left on 0-2 count. K. Hylas  -- aboard on one out single and moving to second when Z. Whelan reaches on catcher's interference, races home.
      Oswego's R. Donnelly and Dragon M. Harrington locked in mound duel through eight innings. Harrington retires 15 of first 16 batters and yields first hit starting the sixth. Harrington (3h, 1r, 0er, 1bb, 3k, 1hbp, 117pitches) gives way to S. Salisbury (2.1inn, 3h, 2k, 40pitches) in the ninth. Oswego erases St. John Fisher 34-12 .....34-12 we say. To say the Lakers warmed up for playoff duty is an understatement. Warmer weather brings out an onslaught! Oswego actually behind 6-3 heading to Tuesday's top of the third inning at SJF Pittsford's Dugan Yard. Oswego scores 17 times on nine hits. Twenty Lakers bat. B. Nicholson leads off with single. Also hit by pitch and singles again in the inning that has J. Barnes, L. Olsson with three-run homers R. Donnelly three-run triple.  Lakers club 24 hits in all, 11 for extra bases. Cortland wins pair of suspense-filling games, 8-6 in 10 innings and 1-0 in seven, to clinch conference regular season crown and homefield for May 3-6 conference tourney. D. Schweitzer with game-winning hits in both Friday contests. M. Harrington with complete game pitching decision in the second game. Corts with 30th win.
         First Game: Schweitzer two-out two-rbi single in the top of the 10th sends RDragons over the top. Oswego's M. Dellicarri homers with one out in the bottom of the ninth to tie 6-6. RDragons had just made lefty pitching change with one out to face lefty Dellicarri who hits third pitch out.
  Cortland takes 6-5 lead into the ninth on M. Perivolaris pinch-hit rbi single in the top of the eighth. Dragons leave sacks full and strand 15 for the game. Earlier, Laker four-run seventh erases 5-1 RDragon lead built in the first three and a half innings. Both starters -- lefty C. Dufresne (106 pitches) for Corts, righty R. Dellicarri lifts fly to short left and Hoagland attempts to score after the catch by C. BeVard who relays to third baseman M. Michalski whose throw to catcher J. Teague nails Hoagland for third out. Change of schedule for upcoming Cortland at Oswego series determining regular season conference king and homefield advantage for May tourney. Will now play doubleheader Friday and single game Saturday. Possible weather problems cause shift from Friday single, Saturday DH. Temps near 60 and no rain Friday, near 50 and showers Saturday

Oneonta holds on for 11-10 win over host Brockport today for makeup game that caused ppd. of scheduled Bport/Fisher meeting. Oneonta breaks on top with five-run first inning after the first two batters ground out. M. Graves with two-rbi double. RDragons with single runs in each of the next five innings -- including two D. LaMonica home runs -- his fourth in two games and eighth for the season. Oneonta with 10-2 lead. Port strikes for three runs each in the sixth and seventh innings, is within 10-9 in the eighth but leaves the bases loaded. Graves with Oneonta rbi hit in the ninth to offset Eagle T.
