Yes, and because 8 a.m. Pacific Time is not seen as appropriate for a championship game.

That is fair, although I always feel bad for pacific time zone people either way because prime time for EST and CST time zone means they are still at work.

The schedule is official. Any idea why they decided to put the UWW game on September 16 at noon? I was planning to come up for that one but I'm not sure I want to roast in the 98 degree mid day sun for three hours. Might need to switch to the McMurry game instead.

Might allow UWW to cut one night off the overnight stay. Or not drive on the buses until 5 a.m.

Would think that is the case. Often times, teams that have to fly in prefer to save time and money by getting on a late flight out that night of the game, rather than staying another night. Happens with just about every playoff game. Teams almost never stay the night after a playoff game, no matter where they are flying back to.

Good points. On the bright side, the Texas heat might be an advantage for the Crusaders. Those big Wisconsin boys probably aren't used to that.

I bet it is because of the flight, after all the game was at noon in Wisconsin for probably the same reason, but no doubt the heat could be a helpful factor for the Cru.

It is kind of interesting that Sul Ross is up that high.

They list their data source as https://ope.ed.gov/ -  specifically https://ope.ed.gov/athletics which allows you to look at the data in detail (and you can compare schools).   Somehow Sul Ross' "revenues" across all sports are over $5M ($3.2M men, $1.5M women, $0.4M not split by gender) compared to UMHB's $6.3M ($2.4M men, $1.2M women, $2.7M not split).  And the interesting thing in that last number for UMHB is their non-split expenses match revenues to the dollar.

My guess is "revenues" include tuition paid by those playing sports, but I could be wrong.

Wouldn't revenue be more than 6.3 million if that was including tuition?

UMHB is going to be a problem in D2 football, championship within 4-7 years

Probably right, I was too lazy to run the math.  But maybe it includes financial or scholarship aid, or reflects the net tuition paid, but even that doesn't seem to work.

Do you know something we don't? I don't think a move to D2 is imminent for UMHB, especially because it seems that a SCAC-ASC merger is more likely than ever. I could be wrong, but that's my thinking. I don't think UMHB wants to leave D3.

Yeah, but would Colorado College want to stay in that merged conference?

If they want to stay D3, their choices are pretty limited.  They're already used to hopping on planes; from that perspective, the SAA isn't all that different than what they had in the old SCAC, but I can't see the SAA making an offer since that would add a second week of difficult remote travel for all sports (except football) due to the lack of any kind of travel partner.  Same for NWC and SCAIC; what do those conferences gain (other than a danged good school that isn't in any danger of closing up shop) by adding flights whenever they play in Colorado?

So that leaves, what, the C2C?  Sure, they want to get in that blender with CNU, not to mention trying to schedule a full season of games would be a disaster since the C2C doesn't have any kind of a regular season.

The only way an ASC-SCAC merger works is if it's limited to football, which doesn't impact CC in the slightest.  I can't see the ASC schools wanting to hop on planes on a regular basis, either.
