Kind of shouldn't have been playing Lawrence anyway. That game does neither team any good.

Mexican college football players get seven years of eligibility?

Tec de Monterrey must be starting Juan Blutarsky on its offensive line:

Tec de Monterrey has played at least one other American team before. In a game played in San Antonio in 2009 the Borregos Salvajes lost by a field goal to Incarnate Word, a contest that was otherwise notable for being the first-ever football game in UIW history. (The Cardinals finished 5-5 that season as a D2 independent; UIW's since moved up to the D1-FCS level).

Interesting opener for the Titans...

Pretty cool!

But for Pool C chances, BAAA to the Wild Sheep. :-\

The WJBC folks are slightly off in terms of translating Tec de Monterrey's sports nickname. It's "Wild Rams" in English. Borrego is the generic term for "sheep" in Mexican Spanish, but because the word has a masculine suffix it also specifically means "ram" (and borrega thus means "ewe"), the same way that in English the word "men" can either refer to all of humanity or specifically to males.

The team's various logos make it pretty clear how Tec de Monterrey wants Borregos to be translated:

North Central's recruits.

Very good looking class.   Lots of tall receivers and a huge QB pick up in Broc Rutter.

Now, if we could get Mikey Dudek to come play for us... ;D

It'll be interesting to see how IWU plays against the Mexican team. They provided a significant portion of the team that just crushed the American team at the World University Championship of American Football. Yeah, the American team was a bunch of college guys paying $5K to get a few more games and a neat experience, but the Mexican team pretty much buried us in the finals. I wonder how the Monterrey team will do against a real DIII school.

That was Amazing!!!! Loved the prom proposal as well. That kid's got a personality already, yet he seems very humble. Good luck to them with the show and him on the field.  :) :)  :) :)

Just registered for this years edition of Kickoff.  If you purchase it before July 1 you get last year's price of $11 ($9 if you have an .edu address).  IMO this has improved every year.  I really like getting a national focus before the start of the season and then the inevitable regional focus as the conference schedule comes into play.  Here's a link if you're ready to take the plunge.

I think that rather than a 4, the 2nd number in NCC's ranking is a 3.
Time to get the eyes checked?  :o  :)

As I say--I can spell, I just can't type.  :D

Mr. Ypsi

Even if it were 14, a 7-3 NCC team seems generously placed due to past seasons' successes.  May they earn the ranking this season.  I had hoped for a stray vote or two for IWU, but I guess their past seasons' successes are too far in the past (and not THAT successful). :P
