since Hartford brings the CCC to 11 members, anyone else think that as the NECC winds down its existence as a multi-sport conference (transitioning into a single sport men's volleyball circuit) that Eastern Nazarene, Mitchell and New England College will land here to make it an even 14 schools?

Possibly with two 7-team divisions in certain sports, or single round robin 13-game schedule in basketball for example.

If you still take requests, I think it would be cool to hear from another Liberty League coach, like Adam Clinton.

Your wish is my command, @StLawus

Where does he coach?  I will send an email.

Going to start transitioning to the upcoming season, but will still line up selective interviews.

Head coach of RPI

since the AQ minimum is only 6 now, barring something unforeseen in terms of the way D3 football conducts its business, I fail to see where the E8 has to do anything if Utica leaves. Schedule another non conference game and keep rolling.

Also the stuff about the non-football LL schools adding football is laughable. Tell me you know nothing about Vassar and Bard without telling me you know nothing, et cetera.

Pat, Ralph, or others....

Has there ever been any discussion of having the Winner's Bracket losers (theoretically Games #7 and #8) switch pools after they lose for the D3 Baseball Tournament now that they've made the move to Pools instead of the traditional 8-team Bracket?

It honestly never crossed my mind until I was watching the D1 Women's College World Series and they mentioned that Texas and Oklahoma started in the same pool.  After they lost to Oklahoma, they went into the other pool and ended up winning three straight games and will face Oklahoma again, but now in the best-of-three series for the National Championship and not in an elimination game like the D3 baseball bracket is constructed.  It doesn't cause any extra games to be played, and to be honest, I kind of like the concept behind it.

I do too but in fact D1 softball is the only one of the 6 that does the pool switch/bracket flip. Everyone else basically has 2 simultaneous 4-team mini tourneys where the winners meet at the end.

What are the chances Hilbert (in Buffalo) is invited to join LL, makes sense from a regional standpoint>>>>

Lol no

E8 maybe in a decade if the school is still open, which it probably won't be.

It'll all get jacked up anyway when Utica goes D2, right?

The only thing I've seen about Utica is that they're close to petitioning the NCAA to go D1 in HOCKEY. Presently playing one sport at the D1 level and all others at D3 is allowed...examples RIT, Union. RPI , St. Lawrence in hockey and Hobart and Hopkins in lacrosse.

no, that's totally not true. Those schools are grandfathered but no one else is allowed to do that. That's why Utica is going D2.

UPDATE: Keystone, in fact, had absolutely nothing in the bullpen as Ithaca ended up demolishing them 17-2.

I wonder if the Ithaca - Catholic super regional will be in DC or at the friendly confines of Freeman Field.

Oswego wins 4-1. Congrats to the Lakers. Anthony Van Fossen, who took the mound in "relief" following the re-start, threw 5 no hit innings with only 1 walk. Total domination when his team needed it most.

Keystone stuns Immaculata for the second time.

After coming back from a 5-2, 7th inning deficit in the opener, they eliminate the Mighty Macs on a 2-out error that plates two runs. Keystone trailed 4-0 heading to the bottom of the 4.

Now the real challenge begins, as it does for any team coming from the losers' bracket who has to play that extra game. What doomed Rochester in the LL tournament was that they just...ran out of guys to get outs. IC has only used three pitchers thus far in the regional. Keystone has had to go deeper into their staff

Anything can happen, of course. But the Bombers are basically where you want to be. Needing just 1 win with a relatively rested staff

already 6-0 good guys, bottom 2. Keystone has left its starter in there to get splattered. Not sure what they have in the pen.

ECSU mercies Kean 8-0 to claim the final spot in super regionals.

What a weekend for Region 3. 0 at large bids yet again, and its 4 Pool A teams combined to go 1-8. Have never seen New York D3 softball in such shambles. A lot of programs need to get better at recruiting, it would seem.

Men's soccer / Re: USA South Conference splitting into two.

The largest D3 conference in the country is splitting into two conferences beginning in the fall.

Agnes Scott, Berea, Covenant, Huntingdon, LaGrange, Maryville, Piedmont and Wesleyan are leaving to form the CCS (Collegiate Conference of the South).

Greensboro, Mary Baldwin, Meredith, Methodist, NC Wesleyan, Pfeiffer, Salem, Southern Virginia, William Peace and Brevard remain as USA South.

Averett had already announced they were leaving to join ODAC.

Doesn't sound like much is really logistically changing as the USA South played in a two division East/West format anyway.  What I imagine will change is that the group should go from one automatic tournament bid, to each conference having its own automatic bid.
Will the CCS get an auto bid immediately or will they have to wait a couple of years?

2 year wait. Pool B in 22-23 and 23-24, Pool A starting fall 2024.

I don't know where they get these numbers from. Merely looking at Ithaca, they didn't go 18-11, they were 21-17 (21-15 vs D3).

Major screw-up by the NCAA.  See if you can spot it.
