Wow! I wonder if any league has swept both Josten's awards in the same season before?

Never in the same year, although in 2009, Melanie Auguste won out of Colorado College, along with MIT's Jimmy Bartolotta, who's from Colorado.

Nichols has Alectus listed as a grad student with Dottin and Ferebee as seniors. Curious if any are returning. W. Connecticut doesn't have anyone in their top 8 listed as seniors. Echeveria is listed as a senior for Endicott in addition to 3 grad students. I guessing Nichols isn't going D2 next year.

All three of those guys have exhausted eligibility.

Separate from covid, I meant a frosh not playing in enough games(1/3 of the schedule(?)) to use up a season of eligibility, then moving on as a grad with that year of eligibility.

If you play one game, you've used at least a semester of eligibility. The only way the 1/3rd thing comes in is if you're injured.

I wonder if it has to do with cost? Dropping to D3 essentially means continuing to run a D1 program for 2-3 years, costwise.

I went through the AA list yesterday, as I usually do, to put together a first draft of preseason AAs for next year. More than half of the players named are four year players with an option to return.

We know a few definitely are, like Josiah Johnson and Spencer Freedman. Others are in the portal and looking for a scholarship, but could possibly be back. Some, like Miles Mallory, played in the AS game and are done. Others, like Levi Borchert, have announced they're finished, but you never really know until school starts next fall.

Plus, you never know what transfers will come in to d3 next year. Fun times!

Borchert said on Hoopsville he's not playing again.  Obviously that can change, but it sounds like he's got a job and girlfriend back home and he's ready to move on.

They're headed back to Dallas. 76-65 final. We'll have an unbeaten champion.
While it was a neutral site on paper, the crowd was overwhelmingly Smith who were less than an hour away. Transy erases another question mark people had entering the tournament.

They made me a believer last weekend. I thought NYU was going to run them over, but the thumping went the other way.

Haven't heard a single person not wearing purple who's said one word about refs. They were definitely better than the guys in UMU's semifinal. They regularly do D1 games and were, by far, the highest rated crew in d3 this year.

You got some tough calls, for sure, but not the ones in the last minute. Given the game plan to be as physical as possible from start to finish, you have to accept the whistles that come with it. I don't think there was a player on the floor who didn't get away with a foul or two.

I thought Mansfield's 5th should've been a no call, but a lot of people much closer to it said they feel different. That's absolutely the worst way to lose a game, but the only thing to blame is the clock. Feels like one that was destined to be won by whoever got the last shot.

Team Hixon made a good run from 10:00-5:00 in the second half, largely on the backs of Ty Prince and Austin Grunder locking down on defense. Sadly, it didn't continue when they subbed out for the final shift.  This was one of the least showboaty AS gamez in recent memory.

Anderson likely has one year left, if he wants it.  The other three, I believe, have done five.

Both men and women at the final four is more common than you'd think. Not sure we've ever hada double title, though.

News from Wheaton coming soon. Stay tuned.

Mike Schauer is telling everybody he meets in Fort Wayne that he's not stepping away from his coaching duties at Wheaton. Consider the rumor quashed.

He said he almost signed up to post here just to tell you all you're crazy.
