IWU fell today 82-63 in Madrid.  Brady Rose had 16 and Nick Coleman 12.

The Titans head home tomorrow.

Safe travels to the Green Team.
May they be free from any form of terror, or any type of nut case both of which, unfortunately, seem to have become far too prevalent in today's society.

Some really sad and tragic news to share -- http://www.pantagraph.com/news/local/year-old-man-dies-after-being-hit-by-car-in/article_d59f4caa-7618-55b5-8bfa-66960de20670.html.

Lanny Lobdell ("veterancciwfan") has been a contributor here on the board for years. There was no bigger fan of the Titans than Lanny, who attended every IWU basketball game - home and away.

Lanny was an avid runner - even at 74.  A story from 6 years ago about Lanny and Annette's passion for running - http://www.pantagraph.com/sports/recreation/running/park---park-road-race-among-many-enjoyed-by/article_d1460fd4-857a-11df-a80f-001cc4c03286.html.  It's hard for me to fathom he was killed on a route he'd probably run hundreds of times.

Please keep Lanny's family and friends in your thoughts and prayers.  He will be missed terribly.

Really sorry to hear this.  As a runner, the thought of this happening while doing what you love is absolutely horrific.

A shocker which I learned about tonight from another source.  I will add to Q's thoughts that Lanny was also a stronger supporter of the CCIW.  He will be missed by the entire Wesleyan community.

Without intent to horn in where I don't belong, Lanny will be missed by an even broader community than solely by those who wear green. While I can't speak for the rest of the CCIW, I can do so for the Cardinal colored faction of the conference. For several years now, Lanny and I usually held both pre and post game discussions before and after the two IWU/NCC games each year, as well as trading several PMs throughout the season. Despite our adversarial alliegiances, our discussions were always amicable, informative, and interesting. I have also met and talked to Mrs. Lobdell, a very gracious lady, several times. My condolences to her, her family, and all Lanny's friends.  :(

This is really sad news. Lanny and I exchanged a lot of zesty banter over the course of a decade and a half, both here on CCIW Chat and face-to-face in various CCIW gyms, and it was always good-natured. I considered him to be very honest and likeable. At last year's IWU @ NPU game he brought me candy, which I thought was a really nice gesture since he didn't even bring any for IWU's broadcaster. ;) My thoughts and prayers go out for Annette and his family. Peace to his memory.

Dear Mr. Sager,

School started today at NPU. Surely this year's NPU basketball recruit/transfer list must be populated by more than a single name.
Is it time yet to disclose any additional names/details, or is Viking institutional security still dependent upon keeping the names in the secret file for at least a little while longer?  :-X  ;)

This has been a disappointing year for communication from the athletics dept.  The men's soccer roster was finally posted today with names / positions / year - but I don't know anything about them.  No football roster still and we play this weekend.

I really want to get excited about our athletics, but little to no communication to alumni.
