Wesley's Matt Gono played in the NFLPA's Collegiate All-Star game at the Rose Bowl. Played the better part of the game and was even recognized by one of the commentators as the MVP of the game. See the link below!

Matt Gono is the real thing.... highest ranked OL prospect from D3 this year......Brandon Shed of Hobart had a good showing for D3 as well
"I never graduated from Iowa, but I was only there for two terms - Truman's and Eisenhower's."
Alex Karras
"When it's third and ten, you can take the milk drinkers and I'll take the whiskey drinkers every time."
Max McGee
"I love football. I really love football, As far as I'm concerned, it's the second best thing in the world".
Joe Namath

Pat Coleman

And a third player, Mount Union long snapper Andy Rieman, was in the game as well.

Matt really had a great game. Happy for him and hope he keeps getting looked at as an OG prospect.

William Paterson (D-III – NJ): Sources tell FootballScoop that head coach Jerry Flora has stepped down after 10 seasons leading the program.

Always felt they could be better than their record. Tucked up there in fertile Northern NJ recruiting territory. The area is very hilly bordered by some ritzy areas and rough urban areas. They have had some very tough defenses some years ago.

I wish them a better future, that is for sure.

Wesley opens at home vs. Delaware Valley... when is the last time Wesley lost 3 years in a row to someone not named Mount Union?

It won't happen with as much as DelVal is losing (and what Wesley returns on both sides of the ball) from that defense. 9 out of 11 starters, all 4 LB's, 3 out of 4 DB's.................and zero obvious backup's other than the kid (LB) who had emergency surgery the night of the Husson playoff game when on a special teams collision, there was thought he broke something in his neck or back. I forget his name. He can't lift his arm three months later. He won't be replacing any of the departing four LB's needless to say.

It will have to be Mount Union again, if anybody (extending the winning streak vs. Wesley) when they play Wesley in a national semifinal this coming season. I think both teams expect to be there once again for their seemingly, annual matchup..........and I like Wesley this year looking at the returnees on both of the teams. Wesley vs. Brockport in the national quarterfinal to go out to Mount Union. Just a February prediction. :)

I think Wesley has some work to do on both sides of the ball before we consider them as national semifinalists. They do have some interesting returners and additions in the early going. We will have to see closer to August who shows up to camp.

Just a February prediction. DelVal loses a motherlode on defense and key offensive linemen and their stud running back. Brockport loses a lot from the defense and some key offensive pieces. I like Wesley over both of them and don't think any of the Northeast teams (Liberty, Empire, New England conferences) present a team like Wesley with much of a challenge. Unless Frostburg has a ton coming back, I don't see Wesley losing a NJAC game. I don't even see DelVal in the playoff mix given the number of key returning players from Widener/Albright/Stevenson, along with a Wesley loss to start the season.

But hey, it's hoops and hockey until then....................and the never ending glow of the Eagles Super Bowl victory. D3 football can wait until mid-August. :)

BPs main losses are experienced OL men, but they do have some transfers coming in that look really solid. Defense loses a couple of key LBs, but the news O'Connell is back was huge for them. Frostburg will need to replace the left side of their OL and the Scott who was a beast on the DL. QB and specialists are back from 2017, tho, so there should be a lot of competitive games this fall / winter.

Brockport will be even better this year then last. With the 7 transfers from scholarship schools and a seriously sick recruiting class the depth will be crazy. They have 2 lbers coming in from troy and Maryland that are both crazy good. You can never factor in everything but the talent level at Bport next year will be even better!!

Hard to tell on transfers until you get em out on the field. Wesley has a QB from Old Dominion that didn't really see the field last year. And with recruiting classes, the top schools in D3 all usually do pretty well. That's what keeps them there.... its still March folks.
