Sportscenter just had a countdown of great high school buzzer beaters. I saw one I thought was a MN high school game - it had Timberwolves branded everywhere - anyone know who it was?

Chaska vs. Champlain Park State AAAA (highest division) Quarterfinals. Champlain has a player going to Marquette and a player who signed with Dayton, but now rumor is he might be a Gopher due to the recent coaching change at the U of Dayton. Very fun shot and if I had time I would link the video here...

Scroll down to watch the video! MIAC connection, Andrew Martinson was the 6th Man of the Year in 2013 for the Cobbers and now is the Assistant Coach for the Chaska Hawks.

Simeon Davis of Hill Murray, will play basketball for the Tommies of UST.

SUMMIT!!!!!

Starting in 2018-19, there will be no Road to Salem....it will be the Road to Fort Wayne for four years.  MUCH more convenience for MN and WI fans and teams for sure!

Thanks for the update AO, didn't know he was a d3 recruit!

Brookfield Central (WI) 6'2" Guard, Sam Rohde, will play basketball for the Tommies of UST.  That is a couple guards the Tommies are taking from Wisconsin.

That's D2 Augustana (South Dakota), not D3 Augustana (Illinois).

HUGE MIAC NEWS!

Junior to be Freddie Gillespie, who was a big reason for the Knights strong finish last year, is transferring to Baylor. Big jump up for him from D3 to D1, but he is long and athletic so we will see what happens. In terms of what happens for the Knights I think they will be solid still, but this is a big blow for their chances at taking home a regular season crown or the MIAC AQ.

He's a solid player, but I guess he didn't strike me as having D1 athleticism, and wasn't exactly dominant in D3?  Clearly some folks who know more about it disagree.  Interesting.  Certainly hurts Carleton's chances next year.

I think we saw a few flashes of his athleticism last year.  Doesn't hurt that he's 6'9" with long arms either.

Yeah, I'm not saying it's a mistake on their end.  I'm sure they've seen enough out of him to warrant their interest whether it's on film, or in other leagues or open gym type situations, where he's playing against other D1 level athletes.

He just didn't strike me personally as a D1 talent.  I'm probably wrong, but I have doubts about how things will go when everyone is highly athletic, and he's going against other athletic big guys.

Best of luck to him!

Dave 'd-mac' McHugh

I don't see any information as to whether he has a scholarship or if he has just been promised a walk-on opportunity.

And he will have to sit a year, remember.
