Who will win Lord Stanley's Cup? In the past on here I have made my dead on predictions. This year the race is too close to call so I haven't. But here goes: I do believe the champions will once again come from the East, either the Lightning or Capitals.

retagent, I think the difference in game 7 of this series is how well Holtby is playing. I'm picking the Caps in a game 7 overtime win.

Whilst I had the Caps going overtime in 7 with Tampa Bay, my Stanley Cup Champion predictions on here continue to be flawless.  ::)

In the words of Alex Ovechkin at the start of the season, "We're not going to be suck this year."

Great playoffs. I hope you saw how some affection was given to St Cloud's own Nate Schmidt by his former team mates in the handshake line. ;D ;D ;D ;D 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-)

We certainly did grow up in an era when people had respect for each other! Guess that's the good ole days we hear about from time to time. Not everything was good but, damn, certain aspects of that age may never be replicated.
Good chatting with you. Go Johnnies. ☠🏈

Congratulations to the Caps and retagent!!!

I was just telling my sister a funny story I remember hearing about Matt Niskanen. When he came into the league he played for the Dallas Stars. At that time they were known for having a bunch of Swedish players. During an interview, a reporter complemented Matt on his English. Matt was like, "I'm from Minnesota"! ;D

Likely he said, "I'm from Minnesoooooda!"  So you can understand the southern reporter's confusion.  ;)

Actually, Niskanen is one of the better interviews. He steers clear of cliches, is thoughtful, introspective and speaks like a well educated person. It is curious to me that hockey players are some of the more well spoken athletes - as a group. Many, especially those from Canada and Europe went from high school to Juniors to pro, without a higher education.

The big Texan, Mason Cox, had his best game of senior football on the weekend playing for Collingwood.
