In Naperville, IL today, North Central and St. Thomas, MN split a pair.

St. Thomas took game 1 in 9 innings. North Central trailed going into the 7th, but scored 2 to tie things up at 6. St. Thomas then plated the winning run in the bottom of the 9th inning.

In the 2nd game, St. Thomas jumped out to a quick 2 run lead in the 1st inning. North Central tied things up in the 3rd, before hitting the visitors with a 10 spot in the bottom of the 4th. The Cardinals 10 run explosion came on 5 singles, 2 doubles, and a 3 run bomb from starting and winning pitcher, Vlasta Mangia. With UST going scoreless in the top of the 5th, the slaughter rule came into play ending play after 4 1/2 innings.

The deciding game will be played tomorrow @ 11:00, central time.

Sources indicated St Thomas could have hosted, but did not put in a bid to the NCAA to do so.

Should be an interesting WS. Tufts had a strong performance in the super regional. Fournier who's numbers were down a little bit this year looked anything but down as she dominated Bridgewater over the 2 days, recording 24 Ks in 12 innings while surrending 3 hits.

Picks for Friday:
Whitewater, St Thomas, Tufts and Trine

Should be a great weekend at Tyler!

Should be Tufts holding up the big trophy on Monday.

Heard Salisbury's the other team in the final. IMHO, most surprising early exit was Trine.

Two great games yesterday! Salisbury winning Game 1, 2-1 and Tufts Game 2, 6-0 in 14. Championship game today at noon.

I saw Trine play their first game and parts of game 2.  Their season record was darn good, I think they had only 4 losses coming into the finals but they did not have a very good tournament.

Congratulations to the Jumbos! Back to Back!! 6-0 :D

Amherst Head Coach Shannon Doepking named head coach at Dartmouth

Heard former Texas Longhorn standout Taylor Hoaglund is also on Amherst staff--interesting to see whether they keep it "in-house" or go "outside" to get a new coach.

Heard that she was not a candidate
