I think Matt Powell played for Laingsburg Christian.  I do not believe they are part of the MHSAA and play in the "home school" tournament.

Aha. Didn't know there was a Laingsburg Christian, probably because they aren't in the MHSAA. Learned my one new fact for the day which means now I can go golfing.

OK, the kids nowadays call that a TIL, which stands for "Today I Learned ...". Since I'm guessing that you didn't know that, this will make two new things you've learned today -- which means that you can avoid the computer altogether tomorrow and hit the links right after breakfast. ;)

Thanks, but I played today with three distinguished MIAA board posters and picked up a year's worth of TIL's (see how quickly I pick up kid's lingo?).

You neglected to mention that you also picked up $3 of HopeConvert's hard-earned cash.

Didn't play Bushwood this time but if the authorities ask, the money was for the three gophers I took down--$1 per pelt.

Reece Dils is a transfer from Ohio Dominican, his father played at Hope.  Reece played quite a bit at the D2 school and should be listed as a Jr.  It will be interesting to see where he fits into Hope's guard heavy lineup.

JV Roster: http://athletics.hope.edu/sports/mbkb/2015-16/roster_jayvee

I might be wrong but it seems like Hope should have a really good JV team. :-\

I'm not an MIAA roster historian and too lazy to try and look it up, but it seems rare to not have a single freshman on the varsity roster.

Had that discussion at our house too.  Thanks for the research, Sac!

And with 5 seniors on the varsity, I hope and expect to see a JV team that all have a season long audition for next years varsity!!

Did Tom Morrison (Northridge) not end up at Hope?

The other 4 Hope recruits (McGiveney, Goral, Ray, Smith) are all on the JV. I believe Hope is the only team to have zero of their recruits on the varsity.  Hopefully that speaks much more to the quality of Hope's varsity and not to the recruits. :-)

What happened to Ryan Skowronek. ?

Morrison is at Hope, but I think injured and out for year? Also think I heard Ryan S got injured at end of last year, and wasn't looking to try out this year. Not entirely sure on either, just what I recall in bits and pieces of older conversations.
