Bob,

Given that the last four posts are from you, you seem to be writing to yourself.  I am looking forward to the day you piss yourself off and the real banter begins.

JR
+k JR, hilarious.  I too am one of OB's millions, and millions of readers.

Congrats to the women's bball squad, impressive stuff.

Go Tigers!

Tough days for Tiger Football.

Despite losing its post player to season-ending surgery, Oxy ripped the Regals behind torrid shooting and tenacious defense, 69-47, in Eagle Rock on Thursday night.

The Tigers jumped on Cal Lu early, leading by as much as 17 in the first half. The Regals managed to cut that lead to 11 at the half, and they continued to chip away in the second stanza, getting within two. But Oxy hit a couple of key long-range baskets and reaffirmed its defensive stance THye extended thei lead largely without the services of star Brianne Brown, who picked up her fourth foul about midway through the half.

The night belonged to Oxy's lone senior and All-SCIAC veteran Stacie Roshon, who  lit it up for 24 points and snagged 9 rebounds.  Guard Laura Mohler also distinguised herself on both ends of the floor, as did the bench.

The Tigers and LaVerne's Leopards, 65-60 winners over Redlands in the other SCIAC tourney game, will tangle in the Rush Gym on Saturday evening.

Looks like La Verne played well in the championship game against Oxy.  Looking forward to their matchup against UPS on Friday.  UPS has been playing very well as of late too...should be a great game!

Any volleyball fans? I posted on my blog a Nationals Guide similar to the ones I did for the St. Thomas and Oshkosh regionals. Check it out if you're interested in La Verne and/or D-III VB.

Chapman 79 - Occidental College 59

Niki Hayman, Independant's Player of the Year and ESPN District VII All American led all scorers with 25 points, including a trio of three-pointers. Linda Ly, 2nd team All Independant's  pitched in 19 points of her own and Andrijana Kerkez was a perfect 5-for-5 from the floor with 12 points and seven boards for Chapman. Lauren Kamiyama had a career-high 12 assists and added five steals for Chapman, which forced 35 Oxy turnovers in the game.

The Tigers had four players reach double-digits in scoring, including Madeline Rose who had 11 points and eight rebounds.

Next weekend Chapman goes up against George Fox on Saturday 12/13 and Linfield College on 12/14.  Go Panters

Good, A Chapman version of OxyBob.

+k for your first post.

I'll be quietly rooting for G. Fox on Saturday.

I hope you can get by Howard Payne this season.
Fierce When Roused

panther power

Thanks for the k.

George Fox has an outstanding Freshman G. Keisha Gordon (21.3 ppg) who the Panthers will have to stop in order to have any chance to steal this one.  Other players the Panthers have to defend against are G. Sage Indendi (13.0 ppg) and F. Elise Kuenzi (11.3 ppg).  Plus GF is now ranked #25 in the DIII Hoops poll this week which is an added incentive to maintain their ranking.  Last, but certainly not least, the Panthers will be in the Bruins' backyard.  So from my view, George Fox is the favorite in this game.

Re: Howard Paine, we hope so as well, but they're a big hill to climb, they draw 4,000+ partisan and boisterious fans for playoff home games.  They're a very disciplined squad with a knowledgeable and skilled coach.  Besides we have far to go and most of it is on the road.  It would be a major accomplishment to make it that far, let alone overcome the Lady Jackets.
